While many of the sophomores are making a name for themselves, several freshmen are also doing the same in the Dayton area.
Here are six freshman who made an impact on the Dayton area scene this past season.

, 6-2, New Madison Tri Village- She has developed into the most talented freshman post player in the Dayton area. Meghan runs the floor well and moves well without the ball. She can post up and gets into position to control the paint, both offensively and altering shots on defense.
One of her strengths is her ability to rebound.
Had good hands and a good touch around the basket. Another aspect of her game is her range. Meghan can float out around the perimeter and hit from three-point range.

, 5-7, Arcanum– She was part of a talented Trojans with several talented freshman making an immediate impact on the varsity level. She was the best shooter of that bunch, and the fact that she has played in several exposure events already, prepared her for the varsity level.
Madelyn can connect from deep three range, and also has good handles to with her arsenal.
Her game is continuing to evolve, and I look for her to get better by the time her sophomore season rolls around.

, 5-9, Germantown Valley View- Blossomed onto the scene on a team filled with experience. She played a key part in the district championship game. I really like her maturity for only being a freshman, she is aggressive and fearless in the paint. Claire has seen her confidence grow throughout the season.
A few of her strengths are her ability to shoot the three, see the floor and is very smart. Claire was a completely different player the second half of the season.
Anna Long, 5-8, Miamisburg– Anna came into Miamisburg, a Division 1 high school, and turned into a very versatile player. She played the point for the Vikings, was their best shooter and worked hard on her shot to be consistent. She can also play the 4 spot with her team not having a lot of height.
She is a workhorse with a great basketball IQ and a bigtime leader. She is one of the hardest working kids in the area and is a gymrat. She continued to improve as the season progressed.
Mae Mastin, 5-6, New Carlisle Tecumseh- often overlooked due to the senior firepower for the Arrows, Mastin has developed herself into quite the talent at the point guard spot. Mae is a player who runs the show flawlessly, and can set up their offense when they are forced into a halfcourt offense. Mastin can score, and don’t let her small stature fool you, this kid can play.
Great handles and as the season progressed, you could see her confidence build as she took control of the offense. Also, could get the ball to their experienced scorers, which made her game even better.

, it would be hard to find a region in the Buckeye state with a better trio of newcomers.
McMahon is a phenomenal talent and plays above her years. She is strong at the rim and can score on anyone in the paint. Her physical strength is outstanding, she’s active with her hands, and glides through the lane.
She will go anywhere she wants, and with her ability to play so mature, she has not been slowed down much this season.
