Star players for Edmond North were; Kamri Heath, Amaia Maxwell, and Graycen Holden. They all brought great value to their team as well as each other’s individual performance. None were afraid of the moment. As Heath and Maxwell set the tone for the game, Holden cleans up around the rim and hustles for 50/50 balls.
A few things that stood out was the talent and athleticism of Heath and Maxwell. Maxwell played with an edge on her shoulder. Everything she did, she went extremely hard. She made a lot of hustle plays for the ball club as well as clutch shots. Heath was the most impressive guard on the court for both teams most the afternoon. She has the ability to score 20 points every game. Against Santa Fe, Kamri went on a 6-0 run alone. Making jumpers off ball screens and transition. The momentum shifted toward the huskies after Kamri Heath’s run, which helped the huskies gain more confidence throughout the game.
Edmond Santa was the most dominant team on the court. The wolves are led by North Texas commit Keira Neal, Ahoneste Walker, Kryslyn Jones, and Kaylee Nero. If all players are on top of their game it will be difficult to stop them. All players bring something to the team that is dangerous. Ahoneste Walker has incredible speed. Her quickness allows her to get passed defenders. It also flusters ball handlers because of her active hands and feet. Kryslyn Jones, has a nice stroke from the 3 point line. Hands must be in her face at all times. She can also finish through contact making her tough to handle. Kaylee Nero is a HUGE threat in the paint! Edmond Santa Fe does a great job or feeding her the ball. She can also get up and down the court, making it easy for SF guards to find her in transition. Once she has the basketball in a comfortable position it will be hard to guard her. Kaylee also affects the game by being a defensive threat, locking down the paint. Guard’s want no part of her. Lastly, Keira Neal, the most athletic out of the group. Keira gives Santa Fe an edge and hardness identity. She plays tough, energetic and flies around on defense using her length. Keira can go left or right, attack the rim, or shoot. It’s hard to contain her on the floor. Neal has the potential of being a really great player for North Texas.
