She showed the ability to handle the ball in transition, keeping her eyes up and looking to advance it to open teammates. She also shot the ball with good range, displaying smooth mechanics, solid form, and a consistent follow-through. Ellie is among those freshman mention. Solid PG with nice handles that makes smart decisions. The shooting abilities allows a coach to play her in a 3/4 guard offense. Lady Lions got something going on there in Blanchard. Keep an eye out for them over the next 4 years. She is a strong, controlled finisher who reads the defense and adjusts at the rim. Her shot is quick with good footwork and a nice release. Her ability to knock down outside shots gives her the versatility to play off the ball at shooting guard, while her ball-handling and decision-making will help against pressure. Either cutting to the rim or crashing the boards for a rebound. Versatile player that has the footwork to post up a small guard but yet consistent enough to knock down the outside shot with nice form keeping a bigger defender honest.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On defense is where I saw what looked like an experienced player for an incoming freshman. Jumping to the ball on the pass. Rotating on drives to contest the shot or slow down the straight drive. First time seeing Aliana play and expressed enough to make a note to follow this 2030 this school season. One note I do have is she was a foul magnet. Full sprints on both ends of the floor never giving up on a play. Great physical combo guard that can play in a 4 guard offense and strong enough to defend the power forward spot on defense.
