The five girls below found ways to score inside and out, handled the basketball, and defended on the perimeter. All of these girls have bright futures ahead of them and should continue to grow and develop their skills as the AAU season continues onward.
Annie Isphording (2022) Indian Hill- Cincy Nation
Annie made an impact on the offensive end getting in the paint off the dribble drive. She did a nice job keeping her head up and surveying the floor, finding open teammates in transition and off some of her drives. She was definitely one of the better offensive guards during the day Saturday.
Sidney Morris (2022) Carlisle- Ohio Stars Elite
Morris was a difference maker on both ends of the floor. Offensively, the lefty had good court vision and distributed the basketball very well. She had a nice midrange shot that compliments her passing abilities. On the defensive end she was able to jump passing lanes and created turnovers on the perimeter. I like her athleticism and think if she can find ways to score in the paint, she could be a dangerous player as her career continues.
Gracie Barnes McNicholas- All Ohio Express
One of the scrappiest players on the floor, Gracie impressed me with her shooting touch. She seemed to have the green light to shoot the ball at any time and was not afraid to pull up from anywhere behind the arc. Her shooting form is clean and impressed me during her big win against Dayton Metro. Defensively she was a solid player and I think makes her a tough matchup.
Gabbie Morton Summit Country Day- All Ohio Express
Gabbie was one of the top defensive guards on display on Saturday. A taller guard, she moves side to side extremely well and used active hands which allowed her to create turnovers on the perimeter. Offensively, she played aggressive on the dribble drive but also can hit the midrange jumper. She can be a tough player to matchup against and demands respect on the defensive end.
Nicole Knippen Ottoville- Dayton Lady Hoopsters Elite
I would argue Nicole was the top shooter I saw on Saturday. Having tremendous form, she had limitless range and was able to hit shots both contested and uncontested. I think she could be a dangerous scorer the rest of the summer and will be a name to watch.
