Grassroots Preview: Ohio Hoopsters 16U

The AAU season is upon us nationwide! Here I take a look at the Ohio Hoopsters 16U team. A team of 2021 players, and a 2020! <h2>Roster:</h2> <h2>#1 Courtney Suchan 5’10” 2021 Olentangy Berlin HS #2 Ariyah Douglas 5’9” 2021 Marion Harding HS #3 Alexis Stevens 5’9” 2021 River Valley HS #4 Kylie Etzler 5’ 7” 2021 Teays Valley HS #11 Dani Beidelman 5’9” 2021 Olentangy HS #22 Amya Harris 5’6 2021 Worthington Kilbourne HS #23 Brianna O’Connor 5’8 2021 Hilliard Davidson HS #32 Jaylah Captain 5’8” 2021 Teays Valley HS #44 Kenzie McConnell 6’0” 2021 Circleville HS #51 Sofia Gentile 6’0” 2021 Hilliard Darby HS</h2> <h2></h2> <h2> Top Players</h2> <h2></h2> • Kenzie McConnell 6’0 2021 Circleville HS: Kenzie is one of top post players in the 2021 class. She has an uncanny ability to use her body to seal her opponents on the low Block. Her Natural strength allows her to maneuver freely to grab Rebounds. Already her schools All time single season rebound leader, allows Kenzie to rack up points in a hurry! This Double-Double machine will be a hot Commodity this Spring/Summer. • Ariyah Douglas 5’9” 2021 Marion Harding HS: A Dynamic guard with a Big bag of Tricks at her disposal. Douglas can score the ball from all three levels and is constantly making her teammates better with her no look passes. She’s an unbelievable on ball defender with active hands which creates scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates. • Jaylah Captain 5’8” 2021 Teays Valley HS: Jaylah is an aggressive guard with a High Basketball IQ. She impacts the game in a multitude of ways, whether it be scoring, rebounding, assists, or steals. Jaylah has deep range on her Jump Shot and Continues to work to getter at scoring off the Bounce. She’s a super wing defender because her strength allows her to keep smaller guards from penetrating and taller ones from posting her up. She’s definitely a sleeper in 2021 Class. • Brianna O’Connor 5’8” 2021 Hilliard Davidson HS: Bri is a fireball of energy! She elevates the play of her teammates by always working hard on the defensive end and running the court in transition. Bri is a sharpshooting Combo Guard who also has the strength to finish through players at the rim. Another unselfish kid who already has her school’s All time single game assist record (10). She’s a born leader and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for this young Lady. • Alexis Stevens 5’9” 2020 River Valley HS: Stevens is the lone 2020 on the roster. This two sport star (softball) has been an all-Ohio Selection 2 out of 3 years for Basketball. Coming off an ACL injury that sidelined her for her Junior season, Stevens is now showing signs of her old self. With Unlimited Range from the perimeter she stretches the defense to allow herself and our guards to penetrate more easily. Alexis plays bigger than her 5’9” frame, which allows her to be a formidable rebounder. As she becomes more comfortable with her new teammates look for Stevens to have some Big Games this Spring/Summer.
