The Kingdom will have their summer league games on Tuesday and Thursday nights starting at 4:30 and they will run through the entire month of June.
17 teams will take part in this event, including a trio of “B” teams. Included in the list of participants are two regional teams (Franklin and Legacy Christian) and a state runner-up (Waynesville). Franklin returns Jordan Rogers as their key returning player, along with several solid role players from last year. Legacy Christian also returns some very talented players such as Emma Hess and Kathleen Ahner, along with Maddy Combs. As for Waynesville, they lost their top three seniors to graduation, but Leah Butterbaugh comes back as one of the top players in the area.
It is like a Who’s Who of the southern area teams, including Fenwick, Little Miami, Badin, Springboro, Fairfield, Middletown, Madison, Dayton Christian, Carlisle, Dixie and Preble Shawnee.
Over at Centerville, it will be a star-studded month of summer league action, as their games will be played Monday and Wednesday nights at Centerville. Several kids who will play at the next level will also rep their schools as Centerville, Beavercreek, Tippecanoe, Alter, Bellbrook, Carroll, Dunbar and Ponitz will be involved in this event.
June is a huge month for the high schools to work on things to bring them together stronger for the upcoming season.
