Today, a look at a county that produces a lot of talent, and the county schools have history over the years of being quality programs.
Take a look at these players this coming season:
Anna Landing, 6-1 Beavercreek- she developed into one of the top players in the GWOC last year, even in their system where they don’t have a lot of bigtime scorers. Landing is a long stretch player who can get to the rim with her length, or step out and score from beyond the arc. She has received multiple offers and is focusing on a great junior year.
Jodee Austin, 5-3 Fairborn- she is small but mighty. Great handles with good body control on the court. Excellent floor leader, and will be counted on a lot this season by new coach Brooklyn Summit. Runs the floor well and plays solid on-ball defense.
Sylvie Sonneman, 5-8 Greeneview- excited to see what she does her senior year. Outstanding shooter, can score from anywhere. Good handles, moves well. Great basketball IQ. Can also get to the rim.
Emma Hess, 6-0, Legacy Christian- a ton of potential for this multi-talented player. Emma is a long tall guard with the skills to score from the perimeter, or will get to the basket and score off her defender. Handles to play the point, quick and smooth to create her own shot.
Kathleen Ahner, 5-8, Legacy Christian- Smooth playmaking guard who has seen her stock rise through the roof. She is the epitome of a true point guard, great handles under pressure, runs the floor and the offense well. Will light up a defense from the outside, or score at the rim. Great intangibles.
Natalie Oktavec, 5-7, Fairborn- really had a great second half of the season last year as she became more comfortable with the offense. Phenomenal perimeter shooter, and slashes to the rim. Strong passer, and will take more onto her shoulders this season with graduation and injuries.
Angie Smith, 5-6, Yellow Springs- incredible athlete, can score on anyone. Strong physical guard with good handles. Difficult to defend with her ability to score from either inside or out. Good with both hands. Loves to push the ball in transition.
Kayla Paul, 5-10, Bellbrook- she is a natural leader on the floor, and her work ethic goes unmatched. Very long and athletic, can run the floor with the best of them. Can defend and get to the rim. A tremendous upside who seems very coachable and a great teammate.
