Knox County is home to Kenyon College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University – two programs that have had their fair share of good women’s basketball players over the years. Knox County is also home to some very talented HS players.
Let’s take a look at a number of talented underclassmen from Knox County.

Newbold has had a tremendous career at Danville, where she has been named to the OPSWA All-Ohio team in DIV on multiple occasions. She is a big and strong presence who can post up or go off of the dribble. She loves getting to her right hand and is relentless on the boards. She lives at the FT line.
Brooklyn Hess – Danville – 5’8 Guard – Class of 2022
Hess had a tremendous freshmen season for the Blue Devils, where she burst onto the scene as one of the team’s leading scorers. She is can make plays with both hands going to the rim, although she is much better heading left at this point in her development. She is long and lanky – possessing a lot of potential as a defender and a rebounder.
Olivia Mast – Fredericktown – 5’7 Guard – Class of 2020
Mast is a good playmaker with the ball in her hands. She shoots a lot of 3’s and makes a high percentage of those attempts. She is solid from the FT line and has developed a number of ways to get the ball in the basket, as she sees a number of different defensive looks as the team’s top offensive threat.

Goluter is a combo-guard with a bright future. She creates nice shot opportunities for her teammates off of dribble penetration and is a threat to shoot the ball from all 3 levels. She should continue to put on strength and size as her body matures. Centerburg will rely on Chloe to lead them for the next 3 years.
Bryn Elliott – Mount Vernon – Guard – Class of 2020
Elliott’s best sport is probably played in the spring – as she will be continuing her softball career at Walsh University upon graduation. However, the athletic guard is a key contributor on the hardwood as well. Elliott is a good shooter from 3-point range and has no problem finishing through contact around the rim. She is a solid ball-handler.
