[player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"] has developed a reputation as a floor general and leader. She’s a 5’5" point guard from Comstock Park High School. Bent plays grassroots basketball with the West Michigan Drive. She recently committed to Saginaw Valley State University. We caught up with Bent to talk about her recruitment, her game, and more. Question: Whats the biggest strength of your game? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: My biggest strength would have to be my IQ of the game. My understanding of the game really gives me an advantage because I really understand how to work with my teammates strengths and weaknesses. I understand the importance of time and score, and I understand if the flow of the game needs to be changed or not. Question: You recently committed to SVSU. How does it feel? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: It feels good, but I’m actually a Cardinal now and I’m excited to be able to play for such an amazing college and program! Question: What do you like most about SVSU? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: I really love the coaches, the team, and the campus. In my opinion, it’s a perfect fit for me! Question: How did you deal with the pressure of being actively recruited? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: I don’t feel any pressure at all. I just go hoop. I have a really supportive family and they make it very easy for me. Question: What were you looking for in a school and team at the next level? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: I (was) looking for a competitive team and competitive coaches and I’m really looking for a school that I feel would be the best fit for me. Question: What was the biggest key in becoming the great basketball player you are today? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: I always wanted to be better than everyone so it really motivated me to work hard and practice a lot. I always looked for things to add to my game so that I could be an all around type of player. Question: What professional player does your game remind you of? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: There isn’t really a professional player that reminds me of me. Question: What part of college basketball are you the most excited about? [player_tooltip player_id="23776" first="Mckenna" last="Bent"]: I’m most excited about being able to play for a college that is competitive and wants to win.
