The Headliners Invitational Showcase was a groundbreaking experience for the girls' basketball community in 2023. The second offering in October of 2025 was even better. We want to bring this showcase to different regions of Michigan, so girls from coast to coast have an opportunity to participate. Our next stop is Summit Academy North High School in Romulus on March 22nd! My definition of a prospective showcase includes three elements: 1) College-caliber players, 2) College Coaches, and 3) Media Exposure from a respected source within the high school girls basketball recruiting arena. The Headliners Invitational checks all three boxes, and then some. All colleges in the state of Michigan and many bordering states were provided details about the showcase, including a registration list. We believe these girls can help programs at the next level, and I'm so encouraged by the college coaches who continue to support this event! The high school and middle school sessions sold out within weeks of opening registration, underscoring the community's desire for this format and confidence in the host to deliver a valuable experience.

Following the precedent set by Prep Girls Hoops, EVERY prospect attending the Headliners Invitational Showcase will be included in a post-event article. Prospects wear numbered reversibles to make media coverage and evaluation as easy as possible. College coaches who pre-registered were sent a digital recruiting packet with all the information necessary to evaluate in the gym and contact prospects afterwards. The event format is EXACTLY what I believe needs to be present to 1) Thoroughly evaluate a prospect, 2) Fully demonstrate a prospect's recruitable qualities, and 3) Cultivate a connection with college coaches. Everything about this showcase is intentional, and nothing is being done haphazardly. College coaches will lead prospects during the skill stations and coach the players during games. Maximum ball touches have been built into this event through stations, 3v3, and 5v5 play. There will be a Headliners Invitational MVP selected for both sessions. All participants take an event t-shirt home with them, and a special edition T-shirt will be given to our showcase MVPs.

The anticipation is building, so...without further ado, let's take a sneak peek at several forward prospects competing during session one at the [program_tooltip program_id='923712' first='Prepare' last='2 Win Basketball'] "Headliners Invitational Showcase"!

Ryenn received Flint Metro League First Team All-Conference recognition for the third straight season, averaging 12.6 points, seven rebounds, and 5.5 blocks per game. She's mastered the art of the swat and is one of 23 in MHSAA history with 300 blocks in a career. Ryenn's height, length, mobility, and versatility make her one of the most unique prospects in this class. She fits multiple levels of college basketball as a 4 or 5 and keeps progressing as a three-point shooter. Ryenn knocked down multiple shots from beyond the arc in the last game I watched her play. I've seen Ryenn high point a defensive rebound and push it the length of the court for a fastbreak layup. She'll be a premier forward prospect for college coaches to watch at the Headliners Invitational Showcase. Ryenn attended the inaugural event back in 2023, and I'm thrilled to see her again on Sunday!

Alexandria has one of the highest motors you'll see on the court. She's a multidimensional prospect with the strength to finish through contact, defend traditional posts, can face-up and drive downhill, and step outside to hit perimeter shots. Alexandria works equally hard on both ends of the court, and she'll be an impact player to watch at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday.

Spencer contributes in every statistical category and she's coming off a very productive junior campaign at Woodhaven. Spencer pursues rebounds with determination, finishes with power and effective foowork in traffic, facilitates the rock to open teammates, protects the rim, and steps outside to hit perimeter shots. She had a solid day at the Headliners Invitational Showcase in October and she'll be a prospect college coaches pay attention to on Sunday.

Kelsey stepped onto the court as a freshman at Lake Orion and became the team's most impactful player. She's strong, determined, and competes with a relentless effort that makes her effective against taller forwards in the paint. Kelsey gets downhill off the dribble, scores at the rim, and works hard defensively. She doesn't back down from a challenge, and I expect her to give the upperclassmen all they can handle at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday.

Elizabeth has an extremely high ceiling as a post prospect, and her towering height will immediately grab the attention of college coaches. She had an outstanding sophomore season for Mount Pleasant, receiving SVL All-Conference Second Team honors. Elizabeth posted multiple double-double performances. She finishes with touch around the basket, has good hands, and is an effective rebounder. Her length and instincts around the rim are going to make high-percentage shots a challenge for opponents. Elizabeth will be a matchup problem at the Headliners Invitational Showcase on Sunday.

Megan is tough, scrappy, and makes a complete impact when she's on the court. Her strong frame and enthusiasm for rebounding result in many rebounds on both ends of the floor. Megan has good footwork in the paint, finishes through contact, and knocks down mid-range jumpers.
Lucy was a breakout prospect on the travel scene last summer with [program_tooltip program_id='1244063' first='Great' last='Lakes Grind']. She followed that up with an outstanding junior season for Buckley and received recognition as a PGH Junior Player of the Year. Lucy's length, athleticism, skillful finishing in the paint, strong rebounding, defensive impact, and versatility will make her one of the top 2027 prospects on the court. Coming from a small school, this might be the first time many college coaches see Lucy play. I expect them to see the potential she has to be an impact player at the college level on Sunday at the Headliners Invitational Showcase.
