Auglaize County has a large manufacturing base. It is also home to what has been the best Division IV basketball program in Ohio for the past few seasons in Minster (State Champions in 2018 and 2019). In addition to the obvious standouts for the Wildcats, there are many other outstanding players from the area.
Let’s take a look at a number of talented underclassmen from Auglaize County.
Lauren Cisco – 5’6 Guard – Memorial – Class of 2020
Cisco is a tremendous shooter from 3-point land. She has tremendous endurance and usually shows no signs of being flustered or frustrated when facing multiple defenses as her team’s top offensive threat. Lauren is a great defender, who is especially effective off of the ball when she is getting deflections and steals – a number of which turn into easy buckets for her team in transition.
Madison Cordonnier – 5’11 Guard – New Bremen – Class of 2021
Cordonnier is a relentless scorer who does it in a variety of ways. She is a great shooter from the perimeter, mid-range and free throw line. The All-District selection was also an All-MAC selection during her sophomore year at New Bremen. Her length allows her to get scoring opportunities relatively easily and it also helps her defensively, where she can successfully guard a number of different positions.

As a key contributor on this year’s quest towards back-to-back titles, Hoying led Minster in scoring in the 2019 state championship game. A great shooter with good range – it’s fair to expect Janae to continue to progress this year offensively, as her squad will need to replace the scoring output lost with the graduation of Xavier-bound Courtney Prenger. Hoying is more than adequate defensively, where she has shut-down her fair share of college-bound opponents over her first two years of high school.
Megan Jurosic – 6’0 Post – New Knoxville – Class of 2020
Megan is a big and strong post who finishes around the rim very well with both hands. Jurosic does a nice job of carving out space on the block and creating touches in positions where she can be most effective. She contests and alters a number of shots in the paint with her long arms and aggressive approach to the defensive end. A double-double candidate every night, Jurosic’s scoring output should increase her senior season.
Makenzie Wilson – 6’1 Post – Wapakoneta – Class of 2020
A long and lanky front court player, Wilson is a consistent double-digit scorer. At over six-foot tall, Wilson is great on the glass – especially on the offensive end, where she adds one of two put-backs each game. Makenzie has a nice touch with the ball in her hands and can block a number of shots on any given night.
Already a 2x state champion and one of the state’s top players, it’s remarkable to think about what Ivy Wolf can accomplish in her career at Minster. (Photo Credit: Sidney Daily News)Ivy Wolf – 5’8 Guard – Minster – Class of 2021
Wolf is one of Ohio’s best players in the entire Class of 2021. She is an elite ball-handler and floor general, running the show for elite programs at Minster and the Dayton Lady Hoopstars. Ivy has a knack for playing her best when her team needs her and her strength and physicality make her a consistent and dominant player on both ends of the court. The gym rat – already a player of the year from the MAC – will go down as one of the best players ever from Auglaize County.
