The Dayton area saw Minster capture their second consecutive state championship back in March, and it is a common thought that the top three D4r teams in Ohio all come from this region.
A look at the 5 teams that will be leading the charge in the Dayton area for Division 4 this season in no particular order.
Fort Loramie- they could now be the favorite among the five teams in this region, but it is close. The Redskins played well in the summer, and looked strong in their summer league. Kenzie Hoelscher is a solid athletic junior, while Dana Rose Dana Rose 6'0" | SF Fort Loramie | 2021 State OH , Ava Sholtis Ava Sholtis 5'8" | CG Fort Loramie | 2022 State OH , Taylor Ratermann, Kennedi Gephart all make this team very tough to beat.
Franklin Monroe- looks to contend in a very challenging Cross Country Conference this year. Corina Conley Corina Conley 6'0" | C Franklin Monroe High School | 2020 State OH has blossomed into one of the top players in the state, Aubrey Cable is also returning from a knee injury, and Belle Cable had a great summer league at Troy in June. Belle is automatic from the three. A fun team to watch.
Legacy Christian- they proved their worth and with two high next-level kids returning, they are ready to make another run. Emma Hess Emma Hess 6'0" | SF Legacy Christian Academy | 2021 State OH is a long, athletic wing with excellent handles, can shoot from the outside or get to the rim. One of the fasters rising 2021 players in Ohio is Kathleen Ahner Kathleen Ahner 5'8" | CG Legacy Christian Academy | 2021 OH . If you need a point guard who can do it all, this is the player you want. Senior Maddy Combs will have to expand her contributions with the loss of Emily Riddle.
Minster- coming off of 2 straight state titles, the Wildcats will have to replace a lot of talent losing seven seniors. But anytime you put Ivy Wolf Ivy Wolf 5'8" | PG Minster | 2021 State OH and Janae Hoying on the floor, you are never out of a game. Impressive showing in the Fort Loramie Summer League, and competed well in some college shootouts. Never count them out. They will play defense, they just need to find some scoring from the kids they lost.
Tri Village- going into the season, their lineup has everything you need to win. Lissa Siler returns as a key scorer, while the twin towers Maddie and Meghan Downing Meghan Downing 6'2" | C Tri Village | 2022 State OH are the best D4 post combo in Ohio, The Patriots have two talented freshman and if Trisa Porter stays healthy, this team could be tough to beat.
Sleepers- Catholic Central is a team that returns some quality players with Abbigail Peterson, Mallory Mullen Mallory Mullen 6'0" | PF Springfield Catholic Central | 2022 OH and Serenity Castle. Looked strong at the Wittenberg Team Shootout at the end of June. Mechanicsburg could also be a factor with the return of Kasey Schipfer and an emerging Grace Forrest.
