We watched a few team that caught our eyes and they are going to be highlighted down below with one, two or three players we liked. We watched game most of the day, but Cal Storm seems to put the better teams at the later part of the day in our opinion. Here we go, we are going to highlight some groups in this event and I hope you will enjoy this little story about some basketball.
Teams Highlighted:
Lady Spartans 17U (CA) are one of the toughest teams I have seen this weekend, they are a terror on the floor, they beat you up on every possession on the court. They shoot the ball well, they rebound well and they are very well coached. Each player knows what they should be doing on the floor and executed it with great precision. They worked as a one total unit with one goal in mind and that was to win the game. The players on their team that stood out to us were as followed: 2020, 5’8, SF, Sutter HS, Sienna Hundal, 2020, 5’8, SG, Sutter HS, Zianna Hundal and 2021, 5’9, SG, Wheatland HS, Logan Garza.
Blackwater Elite (CA) were very interesting to me, they had a bevy of talent and they just have not figured out how to work together for one common goal. Gifted players at every turn with a lot of youth, these girls are pretty good, but not enough to get the win. They have some talent and they are as followed: 2022, 5’8, SF, Rosary HS, Kaylani Barker, 2021, 5’9, PF, Bishop Amat HS, Summer McNeal and 2020, 5’10, SG, Diamond Ranch HS, Kennedy Lindsey.
Balboa Hills National (CA) has a host of bigs on the team that compliment the guards and that is what makes them a hard team to beat. They can run pick and rolll and kill you on the switch, because all of the bigs can pass the ball with precision. I was impressed with how they played tough as nails, they beat you up in the paint and the guards punished you on the perimeter. This group was really fun to watch and they are as followed: 2021, 6’0, SG, John Burroughs HS, Faith Boulanger, 2020, 5’3, SG, Saint Boneventure HS, Haylee Carpenter and 2020, 5’9, PG, Ventura HS, Samantha Henley.
Tree of Hope 15U (WA) was impressive to the fact that they are only a 15u squad and the girls played so composed and calm like it was nothing. These kids made shots, defended with toughness and rebounded with vengeance. If someone did not tell me, I thought these kids were a 17u squad, but someone gets the book and lets me know, so now I was really excited about them. They were so mature for their age on the floor, you do not see that often in club basketball with a young team. The players that stood out were as followed: 2022, 6’3, PF, Mt. Si HS (WA), Lauren Glazier and 2022, 5’6, PG, Annie Wright HS (WA), Jazmyn Stone.
