Here are 5 juniors who played well throughout the day at the Ohio Summer Showcase.
Caitlin Splain (Olentangy Liberty)- solid complete guard who has a lot of tools. Deep range beyond the arc can help open up a defense. Can score off the bounce, good pullup jumper. Moves well with the ball, can score at the rim. Excellent handles with both hands allowing her to create on offense. Runs well in transition.
Emily Adams (Middletown Fenwick)- not many kids work harder in the gym than Emily. She is a 6-foot forward who uses her body well in the block and does a good job on the boards. Smart player who runs the floor well, can defend and is not afraid of contact. Can finish well at the rim and is scrappy around the ball.
Emma Hess (Legacy Christian)- the best player in the gym, and her stock continues to rise. Emma (pictured above) can do it all from handle the ball and score from the perimeter to score in the paint. Cleans the glass, pushes tempo, incredibly smart player. Long and athletic, defensive stopper. Multiple offers at all levels.
Hannah Yochem (Grandview Heights)- very impressed with her perimeter game. Ability to score from the three or fake and drive past the defender for a good pull-up finish. Does an excellent job in transition, can find the open player or fly by the defender for the finish in the paint. Really liked her court awareness and basketball IQ, she knew where to get the ball for the good shot.
Taylor Thomas (Chippewa)- leave her an inch to shoot, and she will light you up. Loved the way she can shoot the basketball, can score from anywhere on the court. Excellent three-point range. Good handles, and can get her shot off quickly. Very impressive.
