Mallory Mullen (Springfield Catholic Central)- Mallory just came off the state track championship as a freshman in the high jump, and that athleticism allows her to control the boards well for her team. She is a long post player who is very athletic, moves well and can finish at the rim. Still raw in parts of the game, but that will come. Continuing to work hard at her position.
Carmen Hueker (Botkins)- not on many radars yet, but I think she will break out this season. Started as a freshman and proved to be a steady floor leader for Botkins. Not afraid to get to the rim, good handles and can bury shots from the perimeter. Good work ethic and continuing to improve every time I see her. Good basketball IQ.
Malerie Ross (Brookville)- another player who was raw and learning as a freshman but has developed into a nice post player for this season. Is a factor in the paint, especially defensively as a shot blocker. Can score around the rim, working on improving her footwork at the basket. You can’t teach height, and I think she is one that could really blossom this season.
Paxton Hunley (Miami East)- a competitor and a scorer. Her mentality is to attack the rim and can go both directions equally and will battle through contact. Working on having a more consistent jump shot. She can push the ball quickly in the open floor and has good court awareness to find the open player. Great on-ball defender, rebounds well.
Trinity Bellard (Middletown Christian)- strong physical kid who uses her body well. Good handles and is a super athletic kid. Trinity (pictured above) is a good ball handler, can create space and make things happen, will shoot the perimeter or get by her defender and score at the rim. Good rebounder, solid defender causes havoc for her opponent.
