As summer ball is now in full swing, Prep Girls Hoops Kansas takes a look at some of the state’s top players on the rise in a variety of positions.
Below are some of the state’s players to keep your eyes on in the 2022 class
Dakiah Yates, 5’9, G, 2022, Parsons
She has great size for her position and makes good plays from distance. She has a good shooting stroke and can shoot over most opponents who defend her on the perimeter. She is very active on defense and always seems to be in a good position. She has long reach and an pull down passes and get her hand on the ball. Also a solid rebounder for her age. One who
Jade Fouts, 5’9, G, 2022, Columbus
Another strong freshman who can score and make smart contributions on both ends. She has good size and is smart at using movement to get open and create space on the floor. She can handle the ball son and can score well for herself. She brings an aggressive nature to the defensive end of the court and stays with the ball and can be difficult to shake.
Harper Schreiner, G, 2022, Eudora
A smart multiple position piece who plays strong defense and looks to swat passes and come away with steals. She can run the floor well and has the handles to push the tempo after a steal or rebound and start looking for plays on the opposite end. She can rebound well and has the ability to score inside as well as out in the midrange or behind the 3-point line.
Allie Baker, 5’1, G, 2022, Emporia
A stop and pop shooter who is quick at getting her shot off. She can find her rhythm from distance and can get to the basket and connect. She is a strong defensive presence and takes her time and looks to get a hand on the ball. She can dribble some and makes smart moves in transition and as a slasher on the offensive side of the floor.
Harlie Wilson, G, 2022, Hutchinson
A shooting guard for Hutchinson who shows promise on both ends of the floor. She is a talented player who works hard. She can do a little bit of everything for her team and can get on the board as a scorer when she is giving the ball and has an open look. A player to keep your eyes on who could easily find a place or position on the floor that fits her game.
