Renee Clines (5-5 Sr. G) made a transfer from Columbia High to Lafayette and put together a great first season with 16.3 ppg, 5 spg, 3.6 rpg, and 3.3 apg. She is very smart with the basketball and has a great shot as is apparent with her stats, and her attitude is a big factor for that. Renee is an incredibly hard worker who will look to lead the Lafayette Hornets to another outstanding season after losing a heartbreaker in the Regional Finals.
Kailani Lindsey (6-0 Fr. C) from Wildwood is one of our top players in the class of 2023, and she averaged a double-double of 12.7 ppg and 10 rpg as only an eight grader with 1.3 swats per game on top of that. She will be an exciting post player to watch develop as she is just now getting into her high school years. The Wildcats had a tough matchup in the regional semifinals where they lost to the eventual State Champs, and they will look to improve after a below .500 season.
Lauren Shepherd (6-5 Sr. C) led the state in blocks as a junior with 8.8 per game. She also was second in the state in rebounding with 16.4 boards per contest. Lauren posted 16 double-doubles and 9 triple-doubles to go along with her 13.4 points per game. The Bell Bulldogs have an amazing talent in Shepherd, and she may even lead the nation this season in blocked shots. Need we say more?
Kinzie Nelson (5-11 Sr. P) of Holmes County averaged a double-double in her junior season with 18.8 points and 11.1 boards per contest. Kinzie was a force to be reckoned with as she lead her team to a 22 win season. Nelson helped HCHS make history by competing in the state championship for the first time ever. She hopes the team is hungry to do it again, and even get revenge by winning it all for her last year as a Blue Devil.
Antania Mason (5-5 Sr. G) of the Hawthorne Hornets is a shooting fiend who can crash the boards and plays terrific D. She put together a phenomenal junior year of 13.8 ppg, 7.7rpg, and 4.3 spg. Antania can do a little bit of everything on both ends of the courts. The Hornets have some nice pieces to make a run at the State Championship under the leadership of Mason.
