As the seasons progress, more and more opportunities become available for the younger players to master their craft before getting to high school, and these players, some already with college “offers”, are ready to showcase their skills on the varsity court this coming season.
Sam Bardonardo (Vandalia Butler)- this player caught the eye of PGH this summer at various events, including the recently completed Dayton Shootout (more on that event coming next month). Bardonaro is an exceptional freshman with high-level skills. A kid who can score from the perimeter, she has range beyond the arc. Also can put the ball on the floor and penetrate to the basket. Smart player with a lot of upside.
Kendal George (Centerville)- wow can this kid shoot the rock. Part of a good class of shooters, Kendal is very skilled with the ball. Good handles with both hands, she also knows where to get the ball. Can hit the midrange, step out for the three, or score at the rim. Good north-south on the break. Smooth and in control, George (pictured above) continues to improve. Will get to play with a loaded high school team this season, meaning no added pressure from her, she can just grow her game and contribute.
Morgan Hunt (Tri Village)- One of two Patriots on the watch list, Morgan has enjoyed a lot of summer success before she has even stepped onto the floor in high school. Good athletic kid who will just do her job. Good on the boards, can outlet for a break and finish at the rim. On the radar already for the next level, and with good reason. Like George, she plays on a team filled with talented upperclassmen, and expect her to make contributions immediately.
Allison Kinney (Indian Lake)- expect her to make major strides with the Lakers this season, and hopes to be the missing piece to help them capture the league title. Good ball skills, smart player with good court vision. Solid defender who has good potential to make an impact at both ends of the floor.
