At 5’4, Schreiner says she doesn’t consider herself a scorer, but a playmaker who is capable of getting teammates the ball and involved in the game.
As a freshman, Schreiner helped her team go 16-6 overall and a trip to the state tournament while averaging 9.5 ppg, 6.2 reb, 4.4 assists, and 3 steals per game.
She spent the offseason competing for Wheat State Elite and says the experience has helped prepare her for the upcoming season.
“(I) had a fun and productive time playing ball,” Schreiner says. “My summer coaches helped me focus on becoming a more consistent scorer. I also worked on my leadership and communication skills as a point guard. This will help me in the upcoming season by being able to continue to find open players, but also become a scoring threat.”
Schreiner says her mom has had the biggest influence on her basketball career to date.“She played in college and has a great background in the game,” Schreiner said. “She also coached me when I was younger and has encouraged me and driven me many miles to help me achieve my goals.”
A fan basketball, Schreiner says she enjoys watching point guards in any game she can.
“I watch a lot of basketball but mainly watch the point guards on both teams in watching,” She says. “I watch for how they create opportunities for themselves and others.”
Schreiner currently holds offers from Emporia State, North Dakota State, Pittsburg State, and Missouri Western.
