At 5’10, Koop is an intense player who can in the post, shoot from the outside or face up and attack the basket and says she takes pride in being an aggressive player at both ends of the floor. Koop is coming off a big sophomore season that saw her average 17.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and was named first team all-conference and honorable mention all-state.
She helped lead Eureka to the state tournament in Hutchinson.
Koop says running with Wheat State has helped her gear up for her junior season and perhaps beyond.
“Spring and summer ball allow me to stay in shape and play against good competition,” Koop says. “The excellent competition across the country has helped me improve my game. As a team wheat stare Elite-Martin took runner up this summer at Dallas Texas super 64.”
A self-described gym rat, Koop says her parents have had the biggest impact on her basketball career to date.
“My biggest influence is my mother because of her skill in basketball and my dad is also a great influence because of his will to drive me to pursue my dreams of playing at a high level,” she says. “My mom and dad both having experience playing sports in college has helped me prepare and do the things needed to do to get ready to be a competitive college player.”
A fan of former Mizzou standout Sophie Cunningham, Koop says she appreciates the WNBA player’s all-around game.
“She is a very aggressive player who likes to rebound and isn’t afraid to bang on the inside,” Koop said. “She can still shoot and drive from the outside. From watching her play over the years she keeps me focused on rebounding and aggressiveness trying to be the total package.”Koop says she has drawn some interest from college programs but is currently keeping all her options open.
