Coming up this week, I will also have two groups of 2022s and two groups of 2023s who caught the attention of the folks at the event.
Callie Hunt, 6-1 Edgewood
She does a good job using her size and ability to shoot extended to her advantage. This allows her to be versatile and a hard match up for opponents. She also moves well and runs the floor in transition. She need to work on taking your game to the next level by taking defenders off the dribble to penetrate or shooting a pull up jumper.
Grace Forrest, 5-7 Mechanicsburg
Grace is very consistent in her abilities on the court. She shows nice passes and looks for your teammates first. The quick release on her shot will leave her being able to shoot quickly over the defender. She needs to just continue working on ballhandling and her overall game.
Lizzie Bruce, 5-7 Springfield Catholic Central
She shows the ability to move without the ball and use off ball screens effectively. Her defensive game allows her to get going, and Lizzie displays quickness with the ability to keep constant pressure on her matchup. She can improve her game by letting her defensive capabilities transition to being more of an offensive threat.
Kenna Gray, 5-6 Bethel
Kenna displays many great qualities of a guard. She shows that she is a nice passer who gets teammates involved first. This transitions into her showing great court vision. Her offensive game includes her displaying craft in using a jump stop move on breakaway layups. Look for her to continue improving on her overall game and becoming more of a threat on offense.
Emily Adams, 6-0 Middletown Fenwick
I think her game has really blossomed this summer. She has the ability to use her body and play your role to the fullest in the paint. Never takes a play off. She is aggressive around the rim and own the boards against her opponent. She just needs to continue working on getting stronger and taking her game to the next level.
Leah Butterbaugh, 5-7 Waynesville
If coaches who were there didn’t know Leah before, they do now. She has a great day, controlling the tempo and moving well with and without the ball. Excellent handles and floor leadership. Good swagger to her game. Leah (pictured above) has a solid perimeter game, can get to the rim and finish. Her leadership will have to increase this season with the loss of key seniors from their state runner-up team.
Cassidy Dupps, 5-6 Heath
Moving into Heath this season, the Dupps name returns where her aunt Kris dominated in the early 90s. Cassidy is a hard nosed guard with a good work ethic. Sees the floor well, not afraid of contact. Good pullup jumper, nice range and continues to strengthen her game and improve on her weaknesses.
Emma Hess, 5-11, Legacy Christian
Consensus from a lot of people who were at the event that she was the best player in the gym on this day. It has been written before about her talent, and on this day, she showed a lot of Division 1 tendencies to the numerous coaches who viewed online. Smooth guard, good range and shot. Can slash to the rim, defend and run the break.
