Ellis is a mainstay in the Girls Basketball Arena, he has had countless stars on his teams and has mentored these girls to best of his abilities. We witness the ASGR on September 28, 2019 at Lynwood High School and I can say that the place was jumping with talent from all of the classes we saw. The young talent was the most impressive, they were hungry and aggressive and we love to see young ladies getting after it for the crowds. We were invited down by the Managing Partner/Director of Scouting Brett McCormick a few days before and he was very hospitable by giving us a roster form and some pertinent information on the girls in the camp event. These are a few girls we were impressed by:
2021, 6’3, PF, Lynwood High School (CA), Rayah Marshall is one of the most intriguing prospects in her class in the country, she is a 6’3 guard in a post body type. She can score from all three-levels and also bring the ball down and lead the break. Pull up three pointer in her game skill set, nice midrange as well with a strong finish at the rim with either hand. She is a game key factor, she is prone to take over a game at any moment, she is confident in all of it, but sometimes I feel she can play so much better. Rayah is definitely a POWER 5 player in all facets of the game, but but only time will tell us who and where she will go. Major Upside for this kid….
2021, 6’2, CG, Valley Vista (AZ), Marisa Davis has great size and length for her body type, she is solid, quick, strong and very athletic. She is more of an attacking guard than a point type, but she can facilitate both if need be. She is aggressive to rim, can finish thru contact and also rise above her defender at the rim to finish with hoop and harm. Shot was decent out to the midrange, but her strength lies in the ability to attack the rim and defend on the other side of the floor. Great potential and already a mainstay in Arizona.
2021, 6’2, CG, Centennial High School (NV), Taylor Bigby (Oregon Commit) has great size as well, long and wiry guard type, can do many things well, such as use her athleticism to beat you to the rim and finish over you. She is sort of a smooth feel type of player, she is calm on the floor and you never see her stressed about any situation. She shoots the ball out to the arc, midrange pullup is good, floater in her skill set and can finish with either hand. She has some major potential and ceiling left, that is why Oregon came a knocking. Major Upside in store.
2022, 6’2, PF/C, St. Mary’s Academy (CA), Chloe Williams is a dynamic forward/post type that has a nice feel for the game. We first saw Chloe in a Semi-Final game last season versus Oxford Academy and she was phenomenal, but they could not capture the win in that game. She has major post presence in the paint, she can use her left or right hand to finish, has a decent midrange shot and is capable of bringing the ball down the floor and getting it to the guard. We like her agility, she runs the floor like a gazelle and is probably one of the most athletic bigs in her class. Impressed with her performance at this camp, looked a little out of shape though, but that is minor before a season start.
2022, 5’5, PG, Corona Santiago High School (CA), Londynn Jones is a dynamic point guard with the uncanny ability to finish in the paint amongst the trees. She shoots the ball well out to the arc, midrange is good and her drive is immaculate to the rim thru contact. She is a leader in all aspects of the game, very vocal and very prideful in the game, almost to the point that she is determined to will herself to make her team win. She defends well, runs the break and makes the right passes at times, but she is a shooting guard in a point guards body. Major upside on this player as well. Very exciting to watch her play, she is electric……
