The incoming sophomores were without question talented, and all of theose who attended have a bright future with continuous hard work in the gym.
Here is the first of a two-part feature on some of the top 2022 players from the event at Bethel High School:
2022 (part 1)
Serenity Castle, 5-6 Springfield Catholic Central
Serenity has the ability to handle the ball well and is a nice passer. Serenity has a nice ball fake move, now needs to work on using her handles and moves to get by your defender with that. Court savvy player with a very good upside. Watch for a breakout season from the sophomore this year.
Haley Crozier Haley Crozier 5'6" | CG Springboro | 2022 OH , 5-6 Springboro
Nice mid-range pull up jumper for the sophomore, one of the better pure shooters in the building that day. Has a nice 3pt shot. Needs to look to score more 1 v 1, it is felt she has the ability to score multiple ways. Always in the gym looking to get better, so expect her game to even be better. Good handles and solid court awareness.
Mariah Claywell, 5-8 2022, Union City (IN)
This Indiana talented player has a nice post up ability for a guard. She can score in transition and attack her defender well. Right hand dominant, needs to work on becoming more confident with her left hand. Once she gets this down, her game will grow even more. Skilled and moves well on the court. Impressive work ethic.
Lonna Heath, 5-7 Sidney Fairlawn
Lonna is a rising sophomore with great passing abilities. She can attack the basket hard and end up drawing the foul. Needs to be strong with the ball and work on her confidence. As she progressed and gets older, her game will improve. Expect her to take on a bigger role in high school this year.
Molly Winner, 6-0 Marion Local
Molly has a nice power up move. I like the way she gets out and runs the floor. Nice job of pursuing the rebound. Needs to work on getting her feet set when setting a screen. Will be challenged every night in the very talented MAC, and watch for her game to grow.
Addison Frymoyer, 5-8 Miamisburg
Maybe one of the biggest “hidden gems” in the area. She does a nice job moving without the ball. Nice range in her shot, and I like the way she rolls hard off screens. Needs to work on going somewhere with the dribble. Addison should be a solid contributor with the Vikings.
Ella Mescher, 5-11 Minster
Similar to Winner, Ella will be tested every night in the MAC, especially for the two-time state champs. She can shoot the 3 well and with range. She also has the ability to finish when attacking the basket. Needs to work on getting stronger which will help with her outlet passes.
