One of the Top NW Posts Commits to Pac-12 School

Boise, Idaho provides a steady stream of talent each year that passes and many Division 1 coaches on the west coast are aware of it by now. Idaho is not necessarily known for its glitz and glamour in the basketball scene, but there is some legitimate talent coming out of  state's capital. In the 2019 class, Idaho as a whole state produced many Division 1 college players including Meghan Boyd (Denver), Bella Murekatete (WSU), Kendyll Kinzer (Fresno State), and a trio of Montana State signees including Darian White, Ava Ranson and Madison Jackson. In the 2020 class, 6'4 center <strong>Peyton McFarland</strong> is next up. The Boise High School standout has been a load for high school teams to deal with in Idaho for some time now. Peyton possesses outstanding length and is a legitimate shot blocking presence. Her offensive skill set is continuously growing with time and the potential is there. The 4-star recruit announced 24 hours ago that she will be playing at the University of Utah following her senior season. After showcasing her talents this spring and summer with the Boise Hoops Dreams club team, Peyton saw her stock continue to rise. Cal and Oklahoma were reportedly among her other finalists. Utah has a history of recruiting northwest kids well and they were successful for the second year in a row, following up on Gig Harbor, Washington's Brynna Maxwell from the 2019 class. Megan Huff (Todd Beamer) and Nakia Arquette are some of the other Washington grown high school players to suit up for the Utah Utes. Peyton McFarland will bring valuable length to the Utes, as the Pac-12 posts seem to be growing taller and longer by the year. Peyton averaged around 12 points, 7 rebounds and nearly 2 blocked shots per game in her junior season, according to the Idaho Statesman. Prospects Nation rates her as a 4-star prospect and Dan Olson of ESPN HoopGurlz rated her 80th in the country for the 2020 class.
