Weary is entering her junior season at Bartram Trail High School and she has already seized the attention of Division 1 schools. She currently holds offers from Stetson, University of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, and Florida Southern. Weary has taken unofficial visits to University of Florida, University of South Florida, and University of North Florida.
When choosing a college Weary is looking for a school that is not far from home. “Team play and the style of defense is very important to me,” she stated. She loves man to man defense as well as pressing and would love to find a college that has the same type of style.
Weary spent the summer playing with East Coast United, where she averaged 24 points, 8 steals, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Although Weary is a definite scorer and an aggressive defender, she understands the key area that needs attention in terms of her development. She added that she is currently working on her three point shot. She is looking to increase her three point shot percentage.
Weary understands that this is a big year for her. “This upcoming season will set the tone for the remainder of my high school career,” stated Weary. Last year at Bartram Trail she averaged 20 points, 5 steals, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds.
