As the first week ends and we move on to week 2 I would like to recognize some of the top performers we have seen in Southern Illinois. Unfortunately I do not have access to every box score in the state so I apologize if I have missed anyone. I am only as good as the info shared with me. With that disclaimer, here we go:
- Sarah Isaf Sarah Isaf 5'9" | PF Paris | 2020 State IL is a 2020 guard from Paris. Sarah averaged 18 points and 6 rebounds per game as Paris won their tournament. Sarah is returning from a knee injury and is playing well.
- Adrenna Snipes Adrenna Snipes 5'5" | CG Alton Marquette | 2022 State IL is a 5’5 2022 guard from Alton Marquette. Adrenna averaged 25 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 steals in leading the Lady Explorers to the Columbia title.

Anna scored 25 points, had 4 rebounds and 7 assists in their opening victory. - Anna Hall Anna Hall 5'11" | PF Civic Memorial | 2020 State IL is 2020 forward from Civic Memorial. Anna averaged 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in CM’s 3 wins in the Taylorville tournament.
- Rylee Pickett is 2020 guard from Greenville. Rylee averaged 18 points and 3 assists in leading Greenville to 3rd place in the Columbia Tip Off Tourney.
- Jenna Gates Jenna Gates 5'4" | CG Paris | 2020 State IL is a 2020 guard from Paris. Jenna filled the stats sheets with 6 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds per game on her way to the All Tourney team.

Tyler had a big opening game for the Lady Lancers with 15 points and 16 rebounds. - Clare Breden Clare Breden 5'5" | CG Jerseyville | 2021 State IL is a 2021 guard from Jerseyville. Clare led her team to the Alton Tourney championship by scoring 19 points per game. Clare was named tourney MVP.

She averaged 15 points and 3 steals while shooting 50% from behind the arc. - Jillian Hamilton Jillian Hamilton 5'11" | SF Pana | 2022 State IL is a 2022 forward from Pana. Jillian had a big start to the season by averaging 15.5 points per game in 4 victories.
- Maddie Lovett is a 2021 guard from North Clay. Maddie averaged 24 points, 4 steals and 2 assists in 3 wins to start the season.
- Alanna Brooks is a 2021 guard from Mascoutah. Alanna had 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals in their opening game against Cahokia.

n is a 2022 forward from Father McGivney. Charlize had a great showing at the Dupo Cat classic. She averaged 16.3 points and 5 rebounds on 62% shooting. - Jakayla Kirk Jakayla Kirk 5'10" | PF Hazelwood Central | 2020 MO is a 2020 forward from Hazelwood Central. Jakayla average 23 points and 11 rebounds per game in two opening victories at the Southern Illinois Shootout.
- Ellie Brown is a 2020 guard from Highland. Ellie averaged 13.3 points per game and reached 1,000 points as Highland went 2-1 at the Salem tourney.
- Erin Houpt Erin Houpt 5'6" | PG Danville | 2021 State IL is a 2021 guard from Danville. Erin had 39 points in her opening game and averaged 22 in leading her team to a 3rd place finish at Paris.
- Bella McCartney is a 2020 forward from Jacksonville Routt. Bella averaged 14 points and 9 rebounds in her opening two games.
- Jessa Vetter Jessa Vetter 5'5" | PG Greenfield | 2021 State IL is a 2021 guard from Greenfield. Jessa had 19 points and 8 steals in their opening night win.
- Ashlyn Sturdy Ashlyn Sturdy 5'8" | CG Tri-City /Sangamon | 2020 State IL is a 2020 guard from TCSV. Ashlyn was named MVP of the Clinton Turkey Tussle after averaging 16 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals per game.
- Kassidy Kirchner Kassidy Kirchner CG PORTA | 2020 State IL is a 2020 guard from PORTA. Kassidy averaged 19 points per game in helping to lead her team to the Turkey Tussle championship.
