Each week on PGH Ohio, I will be posting and updating a Power Poll of teams in this Dayton area. The top five teams based on performance will be released every Sunday evening except for this week, which will be Monday morning due to the games last night at the Journey to the Tourney. Week 2 (week ending Dec. 1) Division 1 1. Fairmont (2-0) remains the #1 team in Division 1 in the Dayton area after a big weekend al Lakota West. No games last week, but three big games this week including Fenwick tonight, at Springfield on Wednesday and a huge showdown at Wayne on Saturday night a game that will be covered by PGH Ohio. 2. Wayne (3-0) struggled in the first half on Saturday night against Tecumseh, only to turn it on in the third quarter and take the lead, cruising to a 66-47 victory. The Warriors travel to Beavercreek on Wednesday and as mentioned, host #1 ranked Fairmont on Saturday night. 3. Springboro (1-0) off last week, but comes back strong on Monday as they host perennial power Mason on Monday night. They also host Northmont on Wednesday and Miamisburg on Saturday. 4. Centerville (1-1) an easy 74-48 win over New Albany on Friday moved them to 1-1 on the young season. [player_tooltip player_id="32562" first="Amy" last="Velasco"] led the Elks with 23, [player_tooltip player_id="32611" first="Cotie" last="McMahon"] added 17, Emma Stanley 11 and [player_tooltip player_id="93541" first="Kendal" last="George"] scored 10. The Cincinnati Trailblazers come to town on Tuesday night and then they host Springfield on Saturday. 5. Bellbrook (3-0) A tough opening stretch to open the season sees the Eagles 3-0. They defeated Waynesville 58-53 last week in their lone game. Bellbrook hosts Dunbar on Monday and Franklin on Saturday. Division 2 1. Junior Megan Leraas led with 16 point including 5 from beyond the arc. [player_tooltip player_id="159378" first="Sarah" last="Ochs"] added 14 points. The Patriots travel to Wyoming Monday night, then play at Fenwick on Wednesday. 2.
