I have noticed so far a couple of things that have shaped this season: 1. The class of 2022 & 2023 is jam-packed with prime-time players! 2. The 2020 7 2021 classes are leading the way with their top-flight performances and leading by example with the consistent play. First up we look at the Lady Titans of Lee’s Summit West with Coach Jared Broughton
We have played a very challenging schedule in the first half of the season. We have dropped a few close games to start the season against tough competition going 1-3 in our first four games losing by a combined 5 points. We closed out the first half of the season with back to back wins and feel like we are improving every day. We have an awesome group of girls and they are focused on having a tremendous second half of the season.
Offensively – our ball movement and understanding of when we should attack offensively is continuing to grow. We are doing a good job of playing with pace and putting our opponents on their heels attacking in transition. We will continue to work to improve our decision making offensively as this will be a big factor in our success going forward.
Defensively – we have been successful with our ability to press our opponents and starting to turn our opponents over more. We will need to renew our commitment to rebounding the ball as a team in the second half of the season.

Marissa has really improved her ability to pursue and rebound the basketball. She is a great kid who is committed to the success of the team. Marissa will start knocking down her shoots from the perimeter in the second half of the season.
Tasia Johnson(So.) – 8.2 ppg, 5.5 rpg, 2.8 apg 37% fg 1.3 ast:to
Tasia JohnsonTasia has had a great first half of the season as her team’s point guard with a positive assist to turnover ratio. Tasia has filled up the stat sheet and guarded the best player many nights. The best part about Tasia is she’s all about us winning games. We will look for her to continue to grow offensively in the second half of the season.
Morgan Pietig (Jr.) – 8.3 ppg 3.8 rbg 2.2 apg 2.0 stl 33% fg 37% 3pt 90% ft 1.08 ast:to
Morgan PietigMorgan’s season has gotten off to a great start. Morgan came up big with 5 three’s against Rock Bridge and has done a great job taking care of the ball with a positive assist to turnover ratio. She’s another awesome kid who is only concerned about us winning.
Brooke Ellis (Jr.) – 9.5 ppg 4.5 rpg 63% fg
Brooke has been outstanding in the first half of the season. Brooke has provided us with an inside threat for teams to worry about. She has scored the ball well against tough competition on the road. Brooke has been a difference-maker for us and we look for her to continue to grow as a player in the second half of the season.
