Contributing Players
The below players are the contributing players who scoring averages are within the top 15 in the state.
Aylesha Wade– Jr.-(Clover)- Guard/Forward- Aylesha is a versatile player who can create her own shot as well as get open off ball screens and curls. She can score in any fashion, drive and finish at the basket with both hand, knock down the deep ball as well as ease into a mid range jumper and knock it down. Her defense does not go unnoticed as her disruptive defenders and active heads leads to defense turning into offense for the team. Aylesha is averaging 25ppg over 2 games and looking to add to that as the season progresses. She could carry her team deep into the postseason.
Kelci Adams– Sr- (Nation Ford)- Guard- Kelci is a deadly three point shooter. She can knock the three down while in transition, off ball screens, off the dribble or if she has to spot up and shoot the three. It is going down. Kelci is also a nightmare on defense by pressuring the ball handlers and communicating loudly on defense. Kelci is averaging 21.5ppg over the last 4 games. She is off to a great start this season and looking to carrying this momentum throughout the season.
D’Mya Tucker– Sr.- (Orangeburg- Wilkinson)- Guard- D’Mya is a special kind of player. She is athletic and has an explosive 1st-step as she drives to attack the basket, her elevation on her mid-range jumper is like no other, she is active on the glass when rebounding especially being a quicker leaper. Her defense is also another part of her game in which makes her special. She defenders no matter who it is, she can trap and extend pressure both on the perimeter and under the basket. D’Mya is averaging 21.3ppg over the last three games. If she is consistent within her perimeter game she has a chance to increase her scoring average for the year.
Janae Whaley– Jr.- (Stall)- Guard- Janae is a two way combo guard. She can handle the ball and score at will but she can also cause a lot of commotion on defense with her pressure. Her strength and speed has allowed her to attack the basket and score or draw contact and put the other team in foul trouble. Muscling her way to the basket and scoring is a known skill which keep teams defending the lanes to the basket and this opens the outside shots up for her team. Janae is averaging 19.5ppg over 2 games. Expect Janae to lead her team this season.
Adrienne Ruffalo– Sr.- (Nation Ford)- Guard- Adrienne is a left handed guard who can shoot from any where on the floor and can drive to the basket and finish with her right hand. Being a left handed shooter keeps defenders honest on the perimeter but it also opens up the lanes and make it hard for defenders as she can finish with either hand once she attacks the basket. She is also a defense presence because she anticipates the next pass and gets many steals and deflections which leads to fast break points. Adrienne is averaging 17.3ppg over the last 4 games. Her averages has the potential to increase as the season continues.
