Expert Analysis
Mindy McCarthy | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Mila Holloway continues to lead the offense for Legacy handling the ball and attacking the basket being shifty with her moves to get to the rim. She’ll get inside for rebounds for her team, too, and she knows how to control the tempo. She’s so smooth attacking the paint and putting up the floater knowing exactly how to get to the opening. She is a nuisance on defense blocking the passes and grabbing steals.

Once this season is over, Holloway will be sporting similar colors to those she wears now at Legacy Early College. Holloway is set to trade in the gold and purple of the Lions for the blue and maize at Michigan. Her team began this year’s CGHR Carolina Clash with a very entertaining victory over Clarksville Christian – a 43-40 result. Holloway finished with 15 points and took home co-MVP honors. She was especially instrumental in spearheading Legacy Early College’s efforts from behind the 3-point line as she drained three 3-pointers to add to her team’s offensive output. Holloway got in a bit of foul trouble late but still managed to make her mark on Friday evening’s contest.

Mila Holloway was certainly the main facilitator on offense for her team running plays, creating space, and scoring some points from all over the court. She did a nice job whipping passes inside protecting each possession getting plays going for some points. In addition to her passes, she can certainly pull up for her own shots knocking them down from deep.

Holloway had a great summer for her Grassroots squad. Mila picked up several offers along the way. She’s quite shifty with the ball in her hands and really does a great job of making her teammates happy with her crisp passing skills.
Mila has great court awareness and excels in the open court getting the ball to the cup. She seems to be one-step ahead of the defenders at times when she is getting the ball downhill to the cup. Holloway is back at Legacy Early College this season and helping to lead the Lions backcourt with fellow mates

Mila has received a number of High Major offers of late and this should come as no surprise. Mila appears to be playing the PG position at a different speed than everyone else. She does a great job controlling the pace of the game and just appears to be in control of the game at all times. She can play very well within the framework of an offense or she can push the tempo. She is just an overall high level PG.

was an exceptional ball handler for her team controlling the tempo and directing her teammates. She didn’t hesitate when she saw her own opening to take the ball to the rack. Holloway singlehandedly grabbed a steal on the press and scored some points on her own fast break. She followed shots grabbing rebounds herself and pushing it up the court. She took over the game with her opposite guard teammate having to sit with fouls. Her crossovers were effective getting some space for her to knock down her shot from deep even through contact. She used her IQ to anticipate passes and grab steals.

was constantly getting her hands involved on defense grabbing the steal and knocking it away form her opponents. She had some range with her shot, too, and she could definitely get inside for some points. Even when she wasn’t bringing the ball put he court, she was running it being ready for the pass in transition for her own points.
