1. Lauryn Taylor – 2020 – Spring Valley HS – 6’0” – Forward – Came into her Senior year on another level, dropped 26 Pts – 18 in the 1st half, in leading her team to victory over Richland Northeast. The Francis Marion Signee is going to need to keep this up if they are going to make a run back to Colonial Life arena as they have the last 2 years.
2. Hasonti Keller – 2021 – Ridgeview HS – 6’0” – Wing – Was able to get her scoring going early in there game versus Lexington, she scored inside & out. Her length and skill level will make her a matchup problem throughout the season, she finished with 15 Pts in the opening game of the tournament.
3. Nylah Terry – 2020 – Blythewood HS – 5’7” – Guard – Showed a great deal of patience in allowing the game to come to her, knocked down 2 – 3-Ptrs in the 2nd half to help her team to victory 39 – 33 over the host team AC Flora in 1 of the early games. Finished the day with 10 Pts on very few shots and I am going to keep an eye on her development this season.
4. Mya Wasswa – 2021 – Ridgeview HS – 5’6” – Guard – Came out on the floor on fire… Scoring 14 first half points and finishing off the opening round game with 21 Pts total. This team looked very impressive even though they were missing 2 starters for this game, they will be a team to watch down the stretch heading into the state Playoffs.
5. Ehrial Wagstaff – 2020 – Irmo HS – 5’6” – Guard – Was a key to a dominating victory in 1 of the late games on day 1, used her defensive abilities to force multiple turnovers that lead to easy buckets. Finished her day with 12 Pts & 8 steals, very nice skill set to go along with great athleticism.
6. Jasmine Frierson – 2024 – AC Flora HS – 5’5” – Guard – The poise and leadership shown by this 8th grader was beyond her years, she ran the team and added scoring when needed to keep her team in it during a close loss. Finished her 1st Varsity game with 10 Pts – 4 Assists – 3 Steals, knocked down her 1st career 3-Ptr as well, The future is bright…
