1000th Career Point: Lauren Langley

<span style="font-size: 14pt">Over the holiday season, the Oscoda Owls participated in the Motor City Roundball Classic. This tournament was a great experience for the Owls as they played two tough teams, Bridgeport and Parma Western.  Despite losing both games, <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/lauren-langley/">Lauren Langley</a> hit her 1000th career point.  Against Bridgeport, Langley led the Owls with 23 points. </span> <span style="font-size: 14pt">I recently caught up with Langley to inquire about her milestone: </span> <hr /> <span style="font-size: 14pt">Q: How did it feel making that basket to hit 1,000 points?</span> [caption id="" align="alignleft" width="527"] Lauren Langley (54) Photo: MLive, John Kruse[/caption] <span style="font-size: 14pt">Langley: </span> <span style="font-size: 14pt">It felt really good to finally make the basket that put me over 1000 points. We knew going into those games that those teams were at a much higher caliber than any of the teams we play in our conference, and that we were playing in this tournament because we wanted to be challenged. I think we had some really great moments, but we just didn't capitalize on those enough to come out with 2 wins. We are taking the lessons we learned from this past weekend to help us succeed in the rest of our season and into post-season play.</span> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="_3_bl"> <div class="_5w1r _3_om _5wdf"> <div class="_4gx_"> <div class="_1aa6"> <div> <hr /> </div> <div class=""> <span style="font-size: 14pt">Q: Who else on your team is stepping up this year?</span> <span style="font-size: 14pt">Langley:</span> <span style="font-size: 14pt">Macy Kellstrom is really stepping up and helping our team this year. She's our main point guard this year and is doing a great job at handling the ball and she's also passing the ball really well. She also can knock down the shot when you need her to as well.
