Some of the top teams and recruits come out of this conference and that is no surprise after seeing how they shoot the ball. Here are the top shooters so far this season in the Colonial Valley Conference.
Ally Oldfield (2020) | Hopewell Valley
Hopewell Valley has won three of their last four and it has been on the back of Oldfield from the three-point line. In a season opening win against Hamilton West, Oldfield knocked down five three’s on her way to 19 points. Just two games ago against Hun, Oldfield scored all 21 of her points from beyond the arc as she hit a season-high seven three-pointers.
Kelly McAleer (2023) | Hightstown
One way to make a name for yourself in the high school scene is to be known as an elite shooter. That is what Hightstown’s freshman guard has done. McAleer has knocked down 24 three’s this season and has two games with five each. One of those games was her first career high school game. Talk about making an immediate impact for your team.
Tamia Warner (2021) | Ewing
After a rocky start to the season for Ewing, they have won five of their last six games. Warner has heated up during those games and them winning is no coincidence. She has hit 17 of her 24 three’s on the season over the last six games including four games with three or more. Warner has scored in double-figures in each of the last five games including a 34 point performance in a win over West Windsor-Plainsboro South.
Crysten Wood (2020) | Steinert
Wood has made at least one three-pointer in all but two games this season. She has been a force on both sides of the ball this season shooting from deep and getting 4.1 steals per game. Wood knocked down a season-high four three’s in a win over Nottingham early in the season. She is one of Steinert’s top offensive threats because she can score from anywhere on the floor.
Brianna Schweitzer (2022) | Allentown
Allentown began the season with three straight losses. They have rebounded by winning their next six to get three games over .500. In Allentown’s three losses, Schweitzer hit just two shots from deep, both coming in one game. Over their six wins, she has knocked down 21 including a season-high six in a win over Hightstown. Schweitzer has the ability to give Allentown a spark from deep and bring points in bunches if she heats up.
