Missouri Milestones (Part I)

During the month of January, several excellent players from the Show-Me State reached special career milestones. Prep Girls Hoops Missouri has been keeping track of those career achievements. Here is the first installment of Missouri Milestones: <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/paige-allen/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/paige-allen/">Paige Allen</a></a> (Oak Park): </strong>The 2020 guard reached a special milestone on January 20 when she scored her 2,000th career point against Park Hill South. The Texas A&amp;M-Corpus Christi commit followed up with a 35-point, 18-rebound performance against Lincoln Prep. Allen is currently averaging 28 points a game to lead the Kansas City area in scoring. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/haley-wiskur/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/haley-wiskur/">Haley Wiskur</a></a> (Smith-Cotton): </strong>The 2020 guard reached the 1,000-point plateau in a game against Kansas City Center in the McDonald's Smith-Cotton Classic. She scored 36 points in that game to reach the milestone. She became the third player in the history of the school to reach 1,000 points. <strong>Jasmine Manuel (Rockwood Summit): </strong>The 6'3" 2020 forward reached two milestones this season. She recently scored her 1,000th career point this month. Manuel has also reached the 1,000-rebound plateau, which gives her a very nice career double. <strong>Sophia Horton (Park Hills Central): </strong>The excellent 2021 guard reached the 1,000-point plateau on January 6 in a victory over South Iron. The 5'7" Horton has already given a verbal commitment to Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/liz-behan/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/liz-behan/">Liz Behan</a></a> (Fort Zumwalt East): </strong>The 2020 forward recently scored her 1,000th career point and followed up later in the week by becoming the school's all-time leading scorer. The 6'2" Behan is currently averaging 19 points and 14 rebounds a game for the 11-4 Lions. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/paige-tate/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/paige-tate/">Paige Tate</a></a> (Spokane): </strong>The 2020 forward recently grabbed her 1,000th career rebound in a game against Clever in mid-January. The 6'0" Tate has already committed to Lyon College. <strong>Jada Lindesmith (Lutheran-St. Charles): </strong>The 2020 guard recently scored her 1,000th career point in a victory at Bowling Green. The 5'7" Lindesmith is averaging a team-high 10.7 points a game for the 13-4 Cougars. <strong>Kate Minkler (Ladue): </strong>The 2020 guard recently scored her 1,000th career point. The 5'6" Minkler is averaging 11 points a game for the 13-2 Rams. <strong>Mykel Mathews (Hazelwood West): </strong>The 2020 guard scored her 1,000th career point in a victory over Alton. She had 22 points and 13 rebounds in the Wildcats victory. The 5'6" Mathews is currently averaging 23 points a game. <em>(We will recognize more special milestones coming up in our next installment next week).</em>
