In a game full of star high school players, it should come as little surprise that the best player on the court was St. Rose senior Brynn Farrell.
The Florida-bound guard left her fingerprints all over St. Rose’s impressive 61-47 victory against Rutgers Prep recently in a battle between two of New Jersey’s premier teams.
While Farrell is one of the most skilled players in the state, it’s her toughness and ability to play hard on every possession that makes her stand out the most. She always seems to provide St. Rose with exactly what is needed. She locks up on defense, attacks the basket like her life depends on it and is an above-average shooter from distance.
She finished with 28 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists despite Rutgers Prep focusing all of its defensive attention on her.
You would be hard pressed to find someone more aggressive than Farrell, who attempted 16 free throws, making 15 of them.
It’s Farrell’s ability to perform in the clutch that makes St. Rose an overwhelming favorite to reach the Tournament of Champions again.
