The last week of the 2020 regular season yielded some strong nominees for Player of the Week. The poll is open until noon eastern on Friday:
Kendall Wingler, Meade County - In a loss to Male, she had 26 points and 8 rebounds. In a win over Central Hardin, she posted 30 points and 11 rebounds. Kendall also went over 3,000 career points last week.
Julia Parker, Ashland Blazer - Against St. Joseph Central (WV) she went for 6 points and a rebounds but bounced back with 23 points in a win over West Carter. She followed with a win over East Carter where she posted 17 points and 3 assists. Parker scored her 2,000th point, becoming the first player (boy or girl) in school history to reach that mark.
Caylan Mills, Knox Central - In a 3 game week, Mills had 6 points and 5 rebounds in a loss to Perry County Central, 8 points and 3 rebounds in a loss to North Laurel and 26 points and 6 rebounds in a loss to Harlan County.
Halle Collins, North Laurel - Against Knox Central, the 7th grader had 22 points and 11 rebounds then followed that with 23 points and 8 rebounds. The Lady Jags won both games.
Leia Trinh, Greenwood - Just an 8th grader, Trinh averaged 23 points last week in 3 games for the Lady Gators.
Abbagail Smith, Barbourville - In a loss to Whitley County, she had 27 points and 8 rebounds. In a win over Harlan County, she put up 24 points and 12 rebounds then finished the week with 2 points and 4 rebounds in a loss to McCreary Central.
Timothi Williams, Great Crossing - In a loss to Rockcastle County, the Sophomore put up 19 points, against Lexington Catholic, she had 16 points and 7 rebounds in a winning effort then finished the week with 13 points and 7 rebounds in a win over East Jessamine.
Marissa Austin, Webster County - In a win over Marshall County, the Senior had 19 points and 4 rebounds then followed that up with 26 points and 5 rebounds in a win over Christian County.
Sydney Lockard, Dixie Heights - In a loss to Cooper, the Junior scored 24 and grabbed 3 rebounds then had 25 points and 2 rebounds in a win over Covington Holy Cross.
Whitney Lind, Cooper - One of the top Freshmen in the state, Lind had 17 points and 12 rebounds in a loss to Newport Central Catholic then 30 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Dixie Heights.
Ashlyn Tingle, Henry County - She only played one game last week but ended with 11 points and 25 rebounds in a losing effort against Bellevue.
