There is nothing like cutting down the nets on championship night. Heated rivalries, packed gyms, and pride on the line. This is Kentucky basketball at its absolute best, and the 57th District Tournament brought all of it. High intensity from start to finish, big time moments, and players stepping up when it mattered most. Every team battled, but only one could finish the job.

The semifinals, hosted by Johnson Central, set the tone early. The Lady Eagles came out locked in and never looked back, taking down Magoffin County 52-37. Their defense was relentless all night, contesting everything and controlling the pace from the opening tip. In the other semifinal, Paintsville made a loud statement, rolling past Martin County 77-42. The Lady Tigers were clicking on all cylinders and left no doubt in their performance.

That set the stage for a championship showdown, but it was all Johnson Central. The Lady Eagles dominated from start to finish, securing a 66-33 win and claiming their third straight district championship. A complete performance on both ends and a reminder that they are still the standard in the 57th District.

[player_tooltip player_id='1302830' first='Allie' last='Slone'], Freshman

Slone led the charge with a game high 21 points and added 5 rebounds. She was automatic at the line, going 9 for 10 in a pressure moment. On the season, she averaged 13.4 points per game while shooting an impressive 86 percent from the free throw line and pulling down 3.7 rebounds per game. A big time performance on the biggest stage.

[player_tooltip player_id='934138' first='Karlea' last='Stanley'], Sophomore

Stanley controlled the game with 15 points and a game high 7 rebounds. She was efficient and composed, knocking down 88 percent from the free throw line. All season long she has been the engine, averaging a team high 16.7 points per game along with 4.6 rebounds. A true difference maker and dynamic play maker on both ends of the court!

[player_tooltip player_id='1293275' first='Emma' last='McKenzie'], Freshman

McKenzie stepped up in a big way with 12 points, including two big three pointers, and added 3 rebounds. She has been a consistent scoring threat all season, averaging 8.5 points per game and leading the team with 56 made threes while grabbing 2.9 rebounds per contest. Her ability to stretch the floor continues to be a major weapon.

Ferguson made the most of her opportunities, finishing with 6 points while shooting 75 percent from the field.
