D4 Sectionals @ Monroe High School
Saturday, February 15
#5 Felicity Franklin vs #6 Southeastern 11:00- Both teams are struggling this season, as Felicity Franklin is 5-14 overall and seeded fifth, and Southeastern is 6-14 one spot behind them. Southeastern averages just over 33 points per game in a game expected to be low scoring. The Trojans are led by sophomore Lily Husdon, as the forward averages 7.7 points per game. Kelsey Vollrath is a freshman who is contributing just under 6 points per game. The winner of this game plays #7 Middletown Christian, who is 6-12. They are led by sophomore Trinity Bellard, an athletic guard who can score from 15-feet in and is averaging 12.5 points per game. Grace Barnett is averaging 9.8 points per game.
#12 New Miami vs #2 Legacy Christian 12:30- Legacy is starting to heat up, as they recovered from an early season league loss to win the Metro Buckeye Conference. They are led by 6-foot junior Emma Hess, a D1 prospect who can score from anywhere, hit the three, play in transition and defend. Kathleen Ahner is a 5-8 junior headed to Taylor who is a hard-working leader at the guard spot. Maddy Combs is a senior leader at the guard spot Junior Margaret Kensinger has also come on this season and has contributed in some big games. The winner gets #8 Cincinnati Christian, led by 5-8 junior Lizzie Grooms at 16.1 points, with 5-9 junior Briahna Bush averages 7.6.
#3 Cedarville vs #11 Lockland 2:00- Cedarville finished 11-11 on the season, and brings in two players in double figures. 5-4 junior guard Elly Coe is their leader at 10.5 points, and is a solid defender. She reacts well and can play in transition. Also contributing is 5-8 junior Juisa Christian who scores at 10 ppg. She does an excellent job on the boards. The winner plays #4 Miami Valley Christian, who took the first round bye. MVC has a 6-4 sophomore Melody Arnett who averages a double-double, scoring at 11.3 points and grabbing 11.7 rebounds per game. Also solid on the boards is 5-10 senior Emily Abshire who scores 0.4 and grabs 11.7 rebounds.
#10 Oyler vs #1 Cincinnati Country Day 3:30- Oyler is 2-12 and CCD 18-2 in this game to advance. Kamryn Jordan is their leader as the junior sits at 18.3 points per game, Sabrina DelBello is a junior at 16 ppg and sophomore Sarah Zimmerman scores at 9.0. The winner advances to play Cincinnati College Prep who took a bye.
