Game #5 of the Day
Harvard Westlake stepped into the building an took care of business from the jump ball, Kiki Iriafen is as dominate as any post in the country. She will take advantage of you in the paint and also on the perimeter, which makes her the most difficult thing on the floor to guard. Troy threw some things at Harvard Westlake with Anaiyah Tu’ua handling the ball well and attacking the rim with some assistance from Hannah Stines. After the halftime mark, Harvard Westlake just executed their game plan to perfection and took control of the game and it was a wrap from there. The final score of the game was Harvard Westlake 55, Troy 43.
Top Performers for Harvard Westlake:
2021, 6’4, PF, KiKi Iriafen – All around athlete, highly athletic, very skilled, tenacious rebounder and just a menace on the court for anyone trying to guard her. High Major talent for sure, shoots the ball out to the free throw line, skilled with left or right over the shoulder post play. This kid is one of the toughest defenders as well and plays with a very high IQ for the game. Always makes the right play and is still growing in my opinion. She ended the game with 27 points and 18 rebounds.
2021, 5’7, PG, Kimiko Katzaroff – Kimiko ran her team very well, she did all the right things and took care of the ball good enough to get the win. She shot the ball well from three line going (4-4) and had an overall (6-8) and (2-2) from the charity stripe. She also played good defense in the game and was able to make the over the top entry pass to Iriafen for a bucket. She ended the game with 18 points.
2021, 5’7, SG, Melissa Zozulenko – Melissa played a solid game, she was solid as a ball handler, she could penetrate the lane and kick or make the pass to the paint. She defended well and was able to keep her defender in front of her, she ended the game with 6 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
Top Performers for Troy:
2020, 5’9, PG, Anaiyah Tu’ua – Anaiyah is very elusive and you would not think she is a killer, but you would be madly mistaken if you think she is gonna roll over and give up. She is very skilled with the ball handling, she can pull up and hit the midrange as well as knock down the three pointer. She is defensively gifted as well, even after the knee injury, she is still a problem on the basketball floor. She ended the game with 18 points, 3 steals and 2 steals.
2022, 5’10, SG, Hannah Stines – Hannah did not have a great game tonite, but she is still a problem if you allow her to get her game going. She can shoot the ball out to about 24 feet, she can handle the ball good enough to run the point sometimes and she has become a little better at getting to the rim. She has nice size for a combo guard and she can put up some points on you in a hurry. She is a decent defender, but what she lacks is the take over the game mentality. She ended the game with 8 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals.
