It was a busy night in Michigan high school basketball yesterday. There were great games and player performances all over the state. Let’s look at some of the top games that prospects put on display.
* This isn’t an all-inclusive list, but some that stood out to me.
<strong>Brazyll Watkins (2021, G, Lakeview)</strong>
Watkins exploded in multiple statistical categories last night. She had 31 points, 6 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/saniaa-walker/">[player_tooltip player_id="138312" first="Saniaa" last="Walker"]</a> (2021, G, Flint Kearsley)</strong>
Walker led the way in her typical sparkplug fashion. She had 25 points, 4 steals, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds in a 71-56 win over Lake Fenton.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/nya-thomas/">[player_tooltip player_id="138340" first="Nya" last="Thomas"]</a> (2021, G, Belleville)</strong>
Thomas continues to prove that she’s underrated as a prospect. She scored 15 points, grabbed 3 boards, and had 2 swipes.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/sarah-soraghan/">[player_tooltip player_id="138350" first="Sarah" last="Soraghan"]</a> (2021, PG, Royal Oak)</strong>
Soraghan keeps impressing in her junior year. She had 19 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Her Royal Oak team defeated Seaholm 40-27.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147719" first="Alecsis" last="Smith"] (2022, F, Bay City Central)</strong>
Smith might have had the top Tuesday in the state. In a 48-38 victory over Essexville Garber, she had 24 points and 32 rebounds.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147749" first="Kamryn" last="Richards"] (2022, PG, Grosse Pointe South)</strong>
Her team picked up a big win over Dakota. Richards was key with 20 points, 5 steals, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds.
<strong>Kalee Ramsey (2020, PG, Morley Stanwood)</strong>
Ramsey showed both scoring punch and perimeter defense in a 55-30 win against Grant. She had 18 points and 2 steals.
<strong>Kenzie Lewis (2020, PG, Williamston)</strong>
Lewis was a stat sheet stuffer in a 55-47 victory against Grand Ledge. She scored 13 points, dished out 11 assists, grabbed 6 rebounds, and added 4 steals.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/angelina-haisha/">[player_tooltip player_id="126293" first="Angelina" last="Haisha"]</a> (2020, G/F, Walled Lake Central)</strong>
Haisha was dominant while her team gutted out a 38-35 win over South Lyon East. She had 18 points, including 4 three pointers.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/lillee-gustafson/">[player_tooltip player_id="138309" first="Lillee" last="Gustafson"]</a> (2021, F, Hartland)</strong>
Gustafson showed her athleticism and versatility while notching a double-double in a victory over Salem. She had 14 points and 10 rebounds.
<strong>Karrington Gordon (2021, F, Lincoln Park)</strong>
Gordon is really emerging in her junior season. She led her team with 25 points in a 67-42 in over Southgate.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/chloe-gilbert/">[player_tooltip player_id="138338" first="Chloe" last="Gilbert"]</a> (2021, G, Milford)</strong>
Despite a 44-37 loss, Gilbert put on an offensive show. She scored over half of her teams points, ending with 22.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="147732" first="Kaley" last="Douglass"] (2022, CG, Williamston)</strong>
Douglass makes up half of an elite backcourt. She was a key factor on both ends of the floor in a 55-47 win against Grand Ledge. Douglass ended with 18 points and 3 steals.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kenzie-bowers/">[player_tooltip player_id="138300" first="Kenzie" last="Bowers"]</a> (2021, PG, Kent City)</strong>
The sharpshooting point guard just keeps delivering. She racked up 27 points in a 72-48 win over Montcalm.
