1- Westfield
Westfield has won 14 in a row including two in the Union County Tournament. Both of their tournament wins have come by double-digits. They will be taking on Oak Knoll in the semi-finals. In round one, it was a 59-30 win for Westfield. Caroline Dwyer led the way with 23 points while Faith Dobosiewicz grabbed 10 boards. In the quarterfinals, Annie Ryan led the way with 16 points. Chloe Kreusser finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds. That is what makes Westfield so dangerous. They have many players who can go off on any different night. They are a deep team with plenty of options.
3- Union Catholic
Union Catholic has not yet been tested in the tournament. They have also not allowed 30 points. Round one was a 49-24 victory over Kent Place. They followed that up with a 40-26 win over Roselle Catholic. Madison Johnson has been the catalyst for Union Catholic throughout this tournament .She had 16 points in the first game. She will be extremely important moving forward. Abigale Ortiz and Sabrina Araujo are other players who can score at a high rate if they get hot.
4- Oak Knoll
Oak Knoll has one of the best scorers in the state in Paige Morton. This matchup with Westfield is an intriguing one and one that we hoped to see. Morton is averaging 21 points per game through two games in the Union County Tournament. Greta Criqui led the way with 19 points in the quarterfinal victory over Summit. Oak Knoll has the star power to take down Westfield. It is not an easy task but it is something that can be done if Morton heats up early. They will have to come into the game with a strong defensive game plan.
7- Gov. Livingston
What a performance it was for Gov. Livingston in the quarterfinal round against No. 2 New Providence. They held the two-seed to 27 points. New Providence had jsut 13 points through three quarters and did not have a player score double-digit points. On the other hand, Gianna Ciccimarra scored 16 points to lead Gov. Livingston to the upset win. They will not set their sites on Union Catholic. If they come out with the same defensive effort, they can beat anyone.
