Artesia pulls off the win against a good San Jacinto Valley Academy team in the late portion of the game, Artesia led for most of the game, but San Jacinto Valley would never give up and kept pushing to keep the game close. This game gave us some ups and downs, saw some really good new players with talent that have never been seen by our eyes and we will go over these players in this story. Artesia would capture the CIFSS 5AA Championship over San Jacinto Valley with a final score of 46-39. We will evaluate the top players of this game below, hope you enjoy the evals.
2020, 5’9, SG, Artesia HS, Sydney McKee 13 points & 6 rebounds – Sydney scored as well and completed the three headed monster for Artesia to win this game and take home the championship. She was another player who got a few buckets for her team and hit the boards as well to seal the victory.
2020, 5’8, SF, Artesia HS, Sierra Roberts 7 points & 13 rebounds – Sierra worked hard in this game as well and she was one of the hardest working kids on the floor. She rebounded well, she set screens and was a good team player that did all the little things on the floor to help her team win. You always need players like this.
2023, 5’11, CG, Artesia HS, Samerika Young 21 points & 22 rebounds – Samerika was a monster in this game, she did everything a player should do to help their team win. Her handles were decent, her scoring ability was impressive and she not only contributed on the offensive side of the ball, but killed it on the boards. She has decent size and nice body type that moved very well on the floor, plus she is a freshman, better recognize.
2023, PG, San Jacinto Valley Academy, Princess McCauley 19 points & 10 rebounds – This girl could score like no one else, she scored from all three levels on the floor. She had a pretty good jumpshot and could get to the rim and finish thru contact. She was a good rebounder and a heck of a player on defense as well.
2022, SG, San Jacinto Valley Academy, Jheisymae Artagame 12 points & 9 rebounds – This girl was dynamic, she did things on the floor that I did not think she was capable of. She handled the ball well, could get to the rim, shot the ball with confidence and was decent on defense. I could tell she was a killer, she had 30 points in that game.
