2020 [player_tooltip player_id="121843" first="Emily" last="Klaczek"], 5’10” Guard, Fremd The Senior Point Guard is the ultimate leader on the floor and played a huge role in Fremd’s run to the 4A title. While the UAB commit only contributed 5 points and 6 rebounds in the semi’s against Lake Park, Klaczek put the team on her back late in the Championship Game against Lincoln-Way West with 20 points and 9 rebounds, while knocking down several key Free Throws in the fourth quarter. I have seen Klaczek play many times over the past two years, but her leadership and composure in the State Championship was the most impressive performance of hers that I have seen. 2020 [player_tooltip player_id="53407" first="Darrione" last="Rogers"], 5’11” Guard, Lake Park I am very glad that Rogers was able to play on the State’s biggest stage down at Redbird Arena, so thousands of spectators (in attendance and on TV) could see how great of a player she is. The DePaul commit averaged 26 points and 11 rebounds for the tournament, scoring in all ways imaginable. The deep step-back threes against Fremd in the semis to the nifty layups and Free Throws (14-16) in the Third Place Game all show why she is among the countries best and a top candidate for Illinois Ms. Basketball. 2020 [player_tooltip player_id="121864" first="Olivia" last="Hill"], 6’0” Forward, Fremd While Klaczek controlled things out on the wing, Hill was instrumental to Fremd’s success in the paint. The Bowling Green commit averaged 8 points and 8.5 rebounds over the weekend, doing great work on both ends of the court. Hill’s an athletic Forward that can guard multiple spots on defense and handle the ball and create her own shot offensively. 2020 [player_tooltip player_id="76269" first="Taylor" last="Gugliuzza"], 5’8” Guard, Lincoln-Way West The First Team All-Stater guided LWW to the State Championship Game with a dominant 26-point, 9 rebound performance in the semifinals against Bolingbrook. Taylor is a quick ball handler who uses good angles and a quick first step to get around her defenders. The Lewis commit is a terrific shooter from deep, but only 6 of her 26 points in the semifinal game came from three, which shows how good of an inside scorer she can be as well. 2021 [player_tooltip player_id="123572" first="Tara" last="Gugliuzza"], 5’8” Guard, Lincoln-Way West The Junior committed to Lewis University had a nice weekend shooting the ball, as she averaged 15 points and 6.5 rebounds over the course of the tournament. Tara is known to be a great shooter from three and she showcased that in both games at state. In addition, she plays well in the LWW zone defense with her quick hands and ability to anticipate passes. 2020 Jayden Marable, 5’7” Guard, Bolingbrook On a team with several talented players, Marable was one who played consistently well in both of Bolingbrooks’ games, averaging 14.5 points for the weekend. She’s a Combo Guard that can handle the ball well and push things in transition. She had a few nice drives in the paint and showcased the ability to shoot the three at a reliable rate.
