Northwest Ohio Key 2021 players- Part 5
Kenedi Goon, 6-2 Ashland Crestview
Kenedi is still learning and becoming comfortable in the post after playing the point guard spot in her younger days. With that said, she handles the ball well for her size and when she is aggressive inside she is tough to stop. Kenedi is a tremendous post defender who is a strong shot blocker and averaged a double-double for her career. She has improved each year, increasing her numbers in all aspects of the game. Kenedi is developing into a complete player with a determination to improve and lead her team to success.
Maquaia Hudgins, 6-0 Toledo Scott
Maquaia is a an outstanding rebounding machine, with the ability to push the ball in transition. With her speed she creates advantages against her defenders as she attacks the rim. Her extreme athleticism has afforded her the opportunity to be average nearly 2 blocks per game. Maquaia plays hard every moment that she in the game, in some cases she helps too much, to a fault; overcompensating for the defense. Looking to improve on her on-ball defense and her perimeter game.
Elena Barber, 5-10 Norwalk
Instrumental in the success at Norwalk the last couple of years, she has gotten progressively better each year of her high school career. Elena is a strong player who is steady around the rim. Moves well without the ball, and as her game improves, she will add to her arsenal to be a strong leader. Heady smart player who does the little things right. Has the chance to take her game to another level next season and have a memorable senior season.
Arika Lutz, 5-3 Swanton
Arika is a multisport athlete, excelling in both basketball and soccer. She was NWOAL scoring champ this year, but more importantly she was one of the best defenders. She is very strong in taking charges and has a great work ethic, attitude, attendance, and character are all very things that Aricka demonstrates on a high level every day.
Averie Lutz, 5-3 Swanton
It’s definitely double trouble when you play Swanton, as Averie is a solid player as her sister Arika us, They feed off each other well, and one big aspect or Averie’s game is her willingness to be a strong team player. She moved positions this season mad it more difficult to defend their team. She has toughness and is an aggressive player with good handles and runs the offense well. Solid defender with quick hands.
