Program Preview: A Look At Maryland Lady Tigers 17U

The Maryland Lady Tigers 17U will participate in the Blue Star League and the Insider Exposure league as well. Coach Walt Roman is still in charge of this group and has added a couple of new players to the mix. &nbsp; <p class="yiv6446801195MsoNormal"><b>Aniya Hills- 2021-6’2 forward (Coppin Academy, MD</b>)- Long with legit size and wingspan.  Runs the floor well for her size. She has been good at hitting the mid-range jump shot and defending the basket. This was her first year at Coppin Academy after transferring from Randallstown.</p> <p class="yiv6446801195MsoNormal"><b>Saniya Gray- 2021- 5’6- Point Guard (Western High School, MD)</b> - The definition of floor general. Strong on the ball defender and a reliable 3 point shooter.She is finally fully healed from a nagging shoulder injury so that’s a great sign.</p> <p class="yiv6446801195MsoNormal"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="137247" first="Ashley" last="Dickey"]-2022-5’6-Combo Guard (Catonsville High School, MD)-</b> High motor, on both sides of the ball. Very good defender both on the ball and in the passing lanes. Has a knack for scoring the basketball and getting to the rim. Only underclassmen on the All-County first Team.</p> <p class="yiv6446801195MsoNormal"><b>Bria Beverly-2021-5’10-Guard/Forward (Dallastown High, PA)- </b>Strong combo that is effective in the post, excellent shot from three point range. Great all-around game and is capable of guarding multiple positions.This will be her first season with the team.</p> <p class="yiv6446801195MsoNormal"><b>Zyan Reynolds-2021-6’3 Post (St. Francis High School, MD)-</b> Strong perimeter game, ability to shoot the three. Excellent ball handling skills for her size. She is a solid rebounder and plays good post defense. Her size alone should get her some long looks.</p> <p class="yiv6446801195MsoNormal"><b>Sydney Stokes- 2021-5’6 PG (Western Tech High School, MD)-</b> Excellent shooter from deep. I was very impressed with her ability to facilitate offense and defend her position. She helped her team finish second in Baltimore County and was rewarded with a designation on the All County second team. She has a lot of potential to improve. Sydney is new to the team.</p> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="136435" first="Keante" last="Lewis"]-2021-5’9 Wing (St Frances Academy, MD)</strong> Big Guard, effective mid range scorer, versatile defender able to guard other big guards and wing players.
