Freshman and Sophomores have become leaders and dominated games all year long. Here are the top underclassmen in the bracket.
Alexis Davis (2023) | Glassboro
Glassboro is led by a pair of freshman. First, we will begin with Davis who is one of the top players in the bracket regardless of grade. Davis is scoring 21.7 points and grabbing 11.4 rebounds per game in her first season. Davis is not a big time shooter but has been an elite scorer and rebounder. She is also second on the team in assists, steals, and blocks. Davis is a star already and will turn into a huge prospect.
Karma Payne (2023) | Glassboro
Next on Glassboro is Payne. Payne has done most of her work inside where she can draw contact and get to the free throw line. Payne is scoring 11.5 points per game. She is half of a duo along with Davis that will continue to grow Glassboro basketball even more.
Kayleigh Armstrong (2022) | Haddon Township
Armstrong has been one of the top sophomores in the state all season long. She is a threat from anywhere on the floor. She is scoring 13.5 points per game and has hit 53 three’s on the season. Armstrong is also one of the top free throw shooters with 67 makes. She is elite at getting to the line and making defenders pay for mistakes.
Riley Fulmer (2022) | Woodstown
Woodstown is led by Charlie Baldwin but Fulmer has been an exceptional secondary option. She is scoring just over 12 points per game this season. Fulmer is a talented shooter who can step back and fire or blow by her defender. Fulmer is also near the top of the team in steals. She is usually asked to guard a tough opponent on the other team which make her a two-way threat.
Imene Fathi (2022) | Wildwood
Wildwood is the No. 2 seed in this tournament coming off a 53-18 win in round one. Fathi has been their main option all season. She leads the team scoring over 12 points per game. Fathi is also the team’s leader in assists and second in steals and rebounds. Wildwood has themselves a true stat sheet filler who is only going to get better over time.
Sophia Wilburn (2022) | Palmyra
What a season it has been for Palmyra. They are 26-1 and that loss came in game No. 2. They have since won 25 straight. Wilburn has put up consistent numbers all season long. She has been a strong role player for a very balanced team. Wilburn has learned a lot this season from the upperclassmen and that will bode well for her over the next two seasons.
