We move forward with our Top 5 series and look over the small forwards. In today’s game, the small forward position is super important and crucial to a team’s success. These players are usually super versatile and can do a little bit of everything. These players can shoot it just as well as the SG’s but have the size to really lock up on defense and get on the boards as well. Some of these players are in-betweeners between the shooting guard position and the power forward spot.

Gerber is a very versatile forward. Many look at her as a shooting guard but I think she would be really good at the 3 spot, especially in college. She has a lot of size and length, in addition to her great shooting. That’s a dangerous 3 and that type of small forward could be useful to any college team.

Fleetwood has great size and strength. She can guard 1-5. Her versatility makes her perfect for the forward spot. So far, we are unsure what college she will be attending but my guess is that she will play the 3 spot wherever she goes and she will be very productive. She plays with a ton of energy and emotion and can really be a difference maker on defense.

Pourier does a lot well. She is very versatile and skilled in all areas of the game. During the high school season, I think you could technically list her as the center or power forward for her team but that was because she was much taller than the other players. In college, she will have to play the 3 spot due to her height/size. However, I think Pourier is well suited to play the position and will provide a lot of scoring and rebounding for her team.

Much like in the case for Pourier, I think Duncan will have to play the 3 spot in college. She does play really good on ball and help side defense. Duncan is also a great 3 point shooter and decent ball handler. This type of versatility is something all colleges want in their 3 spot.
#5 [player_tooltip player_id="135704" first="Dustee" last="Murrell"] 5’10 2020 SF Copper Canyon
If you watched Murrell play in high school, you can see that she did a lot for her team. She took on a lot of the responsibilities from scoring, rebounding, defense, bringing the ball up, etc. While this may have been frustrating and tiresome, I think this will greatly prepare her for the college game. She is very strong and has a little bit of stockiness to her. Murrell is also a lights out shooter and can get to the basket
