Earlier today, we highlighted the top 5 2021 point guards. Now we move into the shooting guards position. These girls can really light it up and score big time points when their team needs it most. #1 [player_tooltip player_id="136238" first="Madison" last="Conner"] 6’0 2021 SG Perry Conner is an extremely talented player. Her game is well rounded and she is an unstoppable scoring machine. Conner is a great shooting guard prospect due to her size, strength, speed, and overall skill. She can score in a number of different ways. #2 [player_tooltip player_id="136240" first="Jess" last="Finney"] 5’11 2021 SG Chaparral Finney is one of the best shooters in the state, if not the best shooter in state. She can get her shot off at an second and not just from deep. She can score off of screens, mid-range jumpers, floaters, you name it. Finney can light it up and fill a stat sheet in a moments notice. #3 [player_tooltip player_id="113515" first="Amyah" last="Reaves"] 5’5 2021 SG Hamilton Went back and forth whether or not to put Reaves on the point guard list or shooting guards list. In the end, I decided to put Reaves in the shooting guards list because I like her best as a scorer. Of course, Reaves can facilitate and get things going for her teammates but I love her in the score first role. Reaves has a nice jumper and can really attack the basket. She is very athletic and finishes well around the rim. #4 [player_tooltip player_id="136249" first="Daeja" last="Johnson"] 5’8 2021 SG Casteel [player_tooltip player_id="136249" first="Daeja" last="Johnson"] is a shooting guard by definition. Johnson can really score the ball and shoots it quite well. Daeja is best in catch and shoot situations but can score going to the basket as well. I just love her shot and think she’s much more effective when she is getting up jumpers. #5 Amoret Maxwell 5’10 2021 SG Millennium Maxwell has the length and skill set of a prototypical shooting guard. She is super long, standing at 5’10 and having really long arms. She has a great shot from deep and mid-range. If you look up shooting guard in the dictionary, Maxwell’s picture is likely to come up.
