Rankings Update: Wichita Area 2021 Up-and-Comers

In the recently released rankings refresh of the 2021 class, the list of players included grew by 65 to reach a total of 183. Another 80 or so are on a watch list to possibly be added in the next release. This article shines some light on Wichita area hoopers who are new additions to the list or who otherwise are gaining attention. #82 [player_tooltip player_id="123534" first="Derryana" last="Cobbins"], Derby, 5'9", W -- 2020 AVCTL Div I honorable mention. Showed athleticism getting to the rim quickly and speed in transition. Is a good perimeter shooter including from beyond the arc. Transfer from Wichita Heights. Cobbins played for Ohlde Elite in 2019. Has good end-to-end speed, passes in the interior well, and has good hands to catch interior passes. Needs to improve strength, show multiple post moves in the paint against quality bigs, and ability with the dribble. Quick, strong, athletic defender. Good shot blocking sense with ability to leave her player to help. Good transition speed. Operates on perimeter well and has nearly 25' three point range.
