Below is a list of players who have had great high school careers thus far and are players to watch during their summer play and onto their senior seasons. Each one of the players listed below compete in Milwaukee or in the surrounding Milwaukee Area.
Jaida Smith | Pius XI Catholic | 5’7 G
Smith was a key player in the success of Pius XI this season. She is a sniper from beyond the arc and will shoot from almost anywhere. With a team full of height and size in the post, Smith impacted her team with her ability to run the offense. She finds her teammates so well and has super impressive court vision. She is long for her position and does a great job scoring mid range over defenders. This season she averaged 10.2 points per game and made 49 three point baskets. In a game against a tough New Berlin Eisenhower team, Smith scored a season-high 17 points.
Santia Sargent | Milwaukee Hamilton | 5’2 PG
The Hamilton point guard is super scrappy on both ends of the floor. A defensive powerhouse for her team, she uses her quickness to fluster each player she guards. She has an incredibly quick first step and isn’t afraid to attack against contact. Playing in a tough conference, Sargent found many ways to get her shot off. She is a perimeter specialist as well and is very confident shooting multiple per game. She made 21 three point baskets during her junior campaign. The point guard averaged 9.3 points per game for Hamilton this season. In a victory against Milwaukee Pulaski, Sargent dropped a season-high 18 points.
Khendal Rolison | Homestead | 5’7 G
Rolison really stepped up this season to be a key player for her Cedarburg team. She pushes the ball on offense and scores with authority in the lane. Rolison really developed her ball handling skills this season and does a great job driving passed defenders. She has range on the perimeter as well, making over 30 three point baskets this season. A confident floor general, Rolison sets the tone offensively. The Homestead standout averaged 11.7 points per game during her junior season. In a victory over Grafton, Rolison scored a season-high 23 points for her team.
Olivia Rangel | Franklin | 5’8 G
A talented guard who plays with patience and poise on offense. She is a great spot up shooter but also creates the shot well for herself. She moves well without the ball and get’s her teammates involved on offense. She developed her confidence on the perimeter and would oftentimes take the perimeter shot over driving into the lane. The junior made 40 three point baskets this season. Rangel was a huge impact player for her team in scoring, averaging 17.4 points per game. She knows when and how to find her shot and has a smooth finish to her jumper. In a game against Kenosha Tremper, Rangel scored a season-high 37 points in the victory.
Kyla Racks | Milwaukee King | 5’7 G
Racks was a key player on a talented Milwaukee King squad this season. She played alongside highly recruited guards who played a lot of minutes. The glimpses that we did see of Racks were extremely impressive and showed she could be the key player for her team next season. She’s relentless on defense and hustles for every loose ball. On offense, Racks finds her shot well and consistently finishes put back buckets. In the opening conference matchup against Milwaukee Reagan, Racks scored 15 points in the win.
